Peppermint Schnapps: Red and White Flannel

This weekend was so fun! My sister came to visit from NYC and we indulged in a lot of treats, got to visit the Newseum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and talked about alllllll the things.

Now I’m pretty much dead tired and watching the West Wing. And there is a 15 pound fluffy cat sitting by my feet. Life is good.

This is my kind of outfit. Jeans and a fun top. Flannel is  and should be fun! They come in so many different colors that can totally be matched to your style or mood. I saw someone wearing a white and cherry red flannel and I knew I had to have one like it! I also have a black and white one I styled in this post.

A red lip is my favorite way to spice up a look, and NARS Heat Wave is THE BEST orange-y red. I wore it with this work dress, this colorful jumpsuit, this gorgeous maxi dress, and of course I brought it on my vacay in Mexico. I sound like a broken record when I always say Heat Wave as my red lip, but a genuine favorite is a genuine favorite.

Speaking of red, I snagged my red pumps from Sole Society for just $34.98. They look basically identical to these Manolo Blahnik heels.

p.s. I went out to the VA suburbs to shoot these photos with Carling. Since I have no car, so I was a sight to see on the metro with my bags full of clothes for a photo shoot. I thought it was going to rain so there I was with my hunter boots strapped to my back pack  and umbrella in hand. Luckily people do pretty weird stuff in public around here, so no one even paid me a second glance.
