Outfits Inspired by the Chinese New Year: Year of the Dragon
Our inspiration for this quarter’s collaboration is the Year of the Dragon.
I was admittedly stuck on this one. I didn’t want my outfit to feel cliché or stereotypical. So I do that I do best: research. I came across a marketing email that explained the significance of the number two for the Lunar New Year, specifically when it comes to gifting and luck. In the Chinese New Year, it is tradition to send a $2 bill to loved ones for luck, prosperity, and harmony.
What could be more harmonious and symmetrical than something that comes in a pair!? My mind immediately went to one of my favorite outfit combinations: the matching set. Matching tops and bottoms is currently on trend. I happily have so many matching sets to share! The black set in the first photo is one of my absolute favorites and so good for lounging, travel, you name it. I also have it in red below.

The Magnificent 8 – Year of the Dragon
We were inspired by the color Red in October, the blazer trend in April, did statement pants for spring, an “outside the box” styling theme last January. Some more themes: pearls, a yellow theme last July, a garden theme, styled vintage and heirloom pieces, and now we’re back with another fun styling theme.
The Magnificent 8 is a collaboration among 8 stylish women, each in a different age bracket, ranging from early 20’s to early 80’s. The mission of this collaboration is to show you just how ageless style is, how we can each dress however we’d like and in ways that make us feel fabulous. There are no age restrictions on style. So wear what you want, when you want, add a smile, and strut your style with confidence. Be sure to check out all 7 of these amazing gals! And make sure you check back in three months for our next collaboration!
Let me re-introduce the ladies of The Magnificent 8. Head to the blogs below to see how everyone is using their creativity to style outfits inspired by the Year of the Dragon.

This is why it’s so wonderful to have more than one brain on a subject. I love your take on it, and wow, you do have a ton of sets. Obviously, I need to go shopping, LOL

Roxanne, I love the way you interpreted the theme into “Twos”! How fun and these are some seriously cute loungewear sets! I particularly like the red set and the beige set at the end. But they are all adorable and you look amazing, my friend!
