Lip Love

I hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing weekend! Dan and I spent the weekend wandering around D.C., lounging with cats, and perfecting the art of grilled cheese. Heaven.

I’ve been thinking of ways to glam up my look in 2016. What could be easier than slapping on a beautiful bit of color!?

I love how a good lipstick can completely transform your look and mood. My mom and I are lipstick girls – we know that if one of us needs a “pick me up” sometimes saying “just put on a little lipstick” can work wonders.

I, for one, can spend forever standing in the drugstore aisles or wandering around the department store in search of a perfect shade.  Here, I have curated four of my current favorites for you, to make your life a little easier.

  1. Nars Barbarella – this shade is my perfect nude. It is just peachy enough to add a little color.  I like wearing it with a bold eye to balance out my makeup look.

2. Clinique Think Bronze – This is my “your lips but better” shade! I think I have been wearing this lipstick since I was…15? It is extremely professional – I even used to wear it to work where makeup was to be kept to a minimum- in the office, in court, and depositions .

3. Revlon Colorburst Lip Stain in Crush– I featured this color in my last post regarding my favorite beauty products. This stain gives me that berry lip that is so “in” right now. The Revlon crayon is easy to use. I like paring it with light color clothing to really make my lips pop.

4. Nars Heat Wave – last but certainly not least! As you can see this color makes me happy. If you are short on time, a swipe of mascara and your favorite red lipstick can make you look and feel instantly put together. This red is on the orange-y side, which makes it fun and lighthearted.
