Another Monday!
Is it just me, or have the weeks been flying by? And that’s despite the boringness that this virus has turned our lives into. Chicago’s mayor recently issued a stay at home advisory. It is an advisory rather than an order, like we saw back when the pandemic began. So I’m not sure how this stay at home order will play out. Will they go back to only allowing essential businesses to run? We shall see. Chicago’s cases are going up rapidly, which is very scary.
Since indoor dining in Illinois is already on hold, We work from home, our daughter is too young or school, and we aren’t in the crowd that goes out to bars very often anymore, our lives will be mostly unchanged. We play at home, go for neighborhood walks, go grocery shopping, and occasionally shop at the local outdoor malls. I feel fortunate to be able to say that life will be status quo, and certainly blessed that the virus hasn’t hit us or our family.
Throwback Kid: 90’s Fashion
I love that 90’s fashion trends are back. Fashion it throwing it back to oversized flannels, chunky boots (hello Docs!), and high waisted everything. To be completely honest, when I put together this outfit I wasn’t even thinking of the 90’s comeback trends. I just kind of happened.
I started with a corduroy rust skirt, which I styled a year ago right after Sidney was born. I have to belt it now because I’ve slowly lost the baby weight. My exact skirt is old, but this one is super similar, and this one is just $14. The flannel on top is probably what makes the whole outfit feel like such a 90s throwback! I grabbed this green one at Target and love wearing it like a cardigan! I recommend sizing up for that comfy 90s feel.
On Mondays We Link Up
Sorry guys – my website crashed last Monday! I sat down to write my post and BOOM – my website was down. Thanks for coming back each week! We’re on our 183rd linkup! Woo!

What a fun throwback look! I love your corduroy skirt. The color is simply beautiful and I bet it goes with so much in your closet. I also adore your bag! I can’t get enough of it.

I love the 90s throwback look! My college moved back online so I came home early and am just hangin’… The cases in Denver were getting really bad too.

I hear you, our cases have gone up drastically, we were only having less than 20 before October and now we are over 100 daily. We too lead lives much like you described, although I am a full-time teacher and so I go to work daily, as do my children. I am thankful that we are still in person and schools have done an outstanding job here and the virus has not been spreading through out schools, although with so many cases all around that could change.
I am a huge fan of the clothing right now and I am loving that my girls are into the same style. It’s getting more fun to go shopping with them and watch their own styles come to life. Love that cord skirt on you and the simple tee.

Roxanne, we are the same position as you. Things are starting to get more locked down again but it literally has no effect on my life as it has been for the past 8 months. I am loving the retro 90’s throwback trends right now! This outfit is adorable. And now I am thinking I want a pair of Vans! So cute.

Such a cute skirt! I like the retro vibe with the tartan shirt!
Hope that you are able to get through another lockdown! We are lucky here, no cases in our state for over 60 days, but there have been 10 or 12 cases in another state which is really scary so they have restrictions again.
Thanks for the link up 🙂
Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂

This virus is going to be with us for a while, so it’s better to follow the “suggestion” then be locked up again. We are so lucky in Australia, our cases are so low and we almost got our old lives back. Like your outfit, I think I used to wear a skirt similar to your, Roxanne.

I love your corduroy skirt! Such a rich color, and you’ve styled it wonderfully. Our governor (Nevada) who has been very proactive – for example, masks are mandated – has tested positive for Covid. I hope he is okay. He has encouraged people to stay home and be careful so lockdown doesn’t become necessary. But our numbers are climbing anyway. Sigh.
