The Chicago Botanic Garden
The City of Chicago has this awesome library program that allows families to visit local educational museums and parks for free! The only catch is that there are a limited number of passes you can check out from the library, and the pass is only valid for a week. We got lucky and snagged the Chicago Botanic Garden passes on one of the the most popular garden days of the year!
The Chicago Botanic Garden really is a marvel. Located about 30 minutes from downtown, you have over 300 acres of gardens and plants to explore. While the leaves are all changing it is an extra special visit. Since quarantine I’ve become kind of a plant nerd (see the plants I have actually kept alive) so I was pretty pumped to go.
We saw a LOT of gardens, but I had a few favorites. I loved the vegetable garden because it reminded me of a vegetable garden my dad and I kept one year. We had so many snap peas that summer! I also loved the English Rose garden (who wouldn’t) because it smelled heavenly and the Japanese garden was stunning. Sidney really enjoys being out and about – I think she liked the Bonsai trees the best! Mini trees for a mini girl.
If you’re living in or around Chicago or will be here for an extended visit I highly recommend a trip to the Botanic Garden!
The $25 Dress
I ordered this dress from Amazon for $25 when I saw it was a bestseller. It is such a good buy! The color is called “caramel” and the color is just delicious in person! I ordered a medium so it would be flowy and comfortable. I also really love the hunter green color!
My flats are and old favorite from Ann Taylor (see how I styled them here when I was 3 months postpartum) but these are SO similar down to the tassels and a fraction of the price of the original!
