I realize that these days money can be tight. Most of us are taking pay cuts, losing clients, or have unfortunately lost our jobs altogether. I’m trying to think of ways I can still be helpful to your style journey without making you spend more of your precious monies! So I came up with an idea to style one affordable sleeveless dress six different ways.
The whole idea of this post is to inspire you to go into your closet and style a simple piece using staples you already own. I got this dress on Amazon for just $25, but I think everyone has a simple dark dress in their closet. To create all of these looks, you only need 12 different items. So even if you only have to purchase one or two things, you’re definitely saving money and getting creative! So let’s see the looks!
AMAZON DRESS | WOVEN BELT | ESPADRILLES
6 Different Ways to Wear a Sleeveless Dress
Belt It!
One of the easiest ways to change the look and feel of a dress is to add a belt. It might sound obvious, but a simple woven belt makes the dress feel casual, while a fancier belt elevates the look. I thrifted my belt from my favorite online thrift shop, ThredUp, but this one is super similar and just $15.
AMAZON DRESS | SIMILAR SWEATER | SNEAKERS | PENDANT
Add A Sweater
I love turning a dress into a skirt with the addition of a sweater. This look is definitely meant as a summer-fall transition situation! I love mini skirts, but I’m not trying to buy one in every color. Popping on your favorite neutral sweater is comfortable and cost-effective. I added my favorite new Kendra Scott pendant for balance.
DRESS | CARDIGAN, option | KEDS SNEAKERS
Casual With A Drapey Cardigan
These are the types of cardigans that fly off the shelves during the Nordstrom Sale. I managed to snag this one last year, and it is available again this year in a bunch of colors. A cardigan is a lovely way to add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral dress. Simple yet chic!
DRESS | SIMILAR BOOTIES | SIMILAR PLAID SHIRT
Tied With A Button Down
I think everyone has a plaid button down hiding somewhere in their closet! You could easily wear the button down over the dress as is, but I think tying it gives the dress some shape and lends the look an overall youthful appearance. My button down is ancient, but this and this are similar. A neutral bootie is a must-have for fall, because it goes with everything and elongates your legs!
AMAZON DRESS | STRIPED TEE, OPTION | DENIM SHORTS | LEOPARD PLATFORMS | PENDANT
Unconventional Layering
This look is a bit edgier and I realize it may not be for everyone. But I love to layer! This particular dress unbuttons so you can wear it as a vest. Paired with a simple striped tee and denim shorts, you instantly have a fun and easy fall outfit. I added my favorite leopard platforms for some pattern play.
There you have it! One Amazon dress, styled 6 different ways. Which is your favorite?
I hope you’re inspired to get into your closet and restyle your favorite pieces in different ways. Do you like posts like this? I had fun and would love to do more to help you reach your style goals!

What a versatile dress! I love that it can be styled six ways and all look very beautiful in their own way. I also like the idea of wearing it as a duster – that’s very cool! I hope you and your family are doing well. Happy Tuesday!

This is such a great idea for a post right now! I love all of these fun ways to style the dress, but I think the unconventional layering one with the dress as a vest is my favorite. Very creative!
