Before I knew I was pregnant, I told myself that I wouldn’t buy maternity outfits. I was kind of in denial in the beginning, and I thought “well I don’t NEED anything – I can just adapt what I have.” Boy was I wrong. As my body shape has changed, I’ve realized that even my favorite loose dresses and tees don’t work as well on a pregnant body.
So, in the throes of my body frustration, I caved and purchased some cute maternity clothing. And it has made me so much more comfortable and a happier pregnant lady. These clothes are designed with a changing body in mind, and there are so many good options these days. What took me so long?
Pregnancy is tough as it is, so doing something for myself like buying some pretty new clothes that make me feel good is something that I think women need to do. I ordered from a variety of places so I could report back, and I’ve been really pleased so far! Granted, when my box of new clothes arrived, it sat on the floor for quite a while until I felt confident enough to finally do a try on session. It’s an emotional experience! Needless, to say, I finally opened those boxes and I’m glad I did. Here are my favorite places to shop for cute maternity clothing.
Best Places To Shop For Cute Maternity Clothing!
1.Pink Blush.
If you’re looking for comfortable and pretty dresses, this online boutique should be your first stop. The dress I’m wearing in these photos is from Pink Blush! I like that most of their clothing works for both maternity and non-maternity, so I will still be able to wear their pieces post-preg. I also just got this, this, and this.
2.Amazon.
Amazon has great options for less. This dress looks so cute with a bump, and I currently have these leggings in my cart. I also love this top!
3.Free People.
The brand doesn’t have a maternity line, but their flowy silhouettes and empire-waisted styles are totally bump friendly. The dress I wore for our baby announcement photos is Free People, and I brought this perfect embroidered maxi to Cleveland this weekend. If you’re not sure with non-maternity brands, just size up.
4.Old Navy.
Great for basics like stretchy jersey dresses and denim! Their full panel skinny jeans are in heavy rotation, and I love that some of them have a “real” waist band that you can use to create a half tuck, like you would have if you didn’t have a bump. And I die for their amazing sales.
5.ShopBop.
Shopbop has so many maternity brands like Hatch and Ingrid&Isabel, which are two of my favorites because they are so fashion forward. I’m pretty sure that Hatch was a Princess Meghan Markle favorite, if you need any convincing. This dress is a maternity MUST have (I have it in 2 colors) and I took this convertible strapless dress to Hawaii.
6.Destination Maternity/Pea In The Pod/Motherhood.
I’m pretty sure these three brands are the same thing. Some of the items are a bit pricier, and meant to be investment pieces that form the basis of your maternity wardrobe. Like a good black dress, a quality pair of jeans that you’ll wear to death for 4-5 months (these are like butter), a solid work dress, and a beautiful shower outfit.
If I discover any other worthy brands for cute maternity clothing in the next 4 months, I’ll be sure to update this post! I have heard that Asos, Loft, and Gap all have great maternity lines, but I can’t honestly tell you because I haven’t tried them.

Those are some great places to shop! What a lot of people dont think about is the fact that you will still be in maternity clothes after baby too. So I bought pregnancy clothes that could transition for after with breast feeding options . Asos had some great stuff.

I wore a lot of brands that weren’t maternity when I was preggo too. I love a good boho style so it was easier to get flowy pieces!

I love Pink Blush selection and did get one of their dresses. Old Navy was a go to since I didn’t want to spend too much money on clothes. But yes, it really helped me feel better to get some new maternity clothes! Such a difference in my attitude to have some cute clothes to wear!
