Remember when I went to Woodfield Mall to shop for some spring outfits? I actually got this dress when I was there last time! Anyway, since the famous mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, has basically every store you could want, I headed to the mall to get some Mother’s day gift inspiration!
The mall can be a bit overwhelming, but if you think about your mom and her personality, then it’s much easier to create a shopping game plan. And since I’m going to be a mom next year (eep!) I also thought about my own needs and what I’d love to receive. So after checking out the mall’s directory, I narrowed it down to Aldo, LUSH, Macy’s, Francesca’s, and Coach.

Colorful, bold accessories are IN! And they make the perfect gift. I love that you can get mom some fun dangly earrings, bold shoes, or a fun summer handbag to add to her spring and summer wardrobe. I found all of these accessories at Aldo!
Unique Mothers Day Gifts for the Spa Mom
Since I found out I was preggo, I’ve been trying to use sustainable and clean body products. LUSH is one of my favorite places for that! Their bath bombs are incredible (we all need the Girl Power one!), and I also really enjoy their charity pot body lotion. LUSH has some gorgeous gift sets this year with beautifully curated body products for mother’s day!
My mom doesn’t really like to take baths, but LUSH has a gift set for her in mind too. The “Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma’am” gift set has a strawberry-scented shower gel, organic strawberry soap, and a new LUSH product called a shower bomb! It kind of works like a bath bomb, but you use it in the shower as a body scrub as it bubbles and fizzes! So cool. I love that mom can still pamper herself, even if she’s not a bath lover.
Unique Mothers Day Gifts for the Momma on the Go
I love travel gadgets, but sometimes it is nice to go back to the basics. Coach has nice-sized travel cases in their new floral prints (my favorite is the beige color) where mom can store her makeup or toiletries. I also found a cute crossbody bag with a double-sized removable cardholder that she can move from bag to bag. The bag itself is small enough that she can put it in a larger tote while she’s on the plane, in the car, etc. It’s a little pricier, so you maybe you can go in with your sibs on that one 🙂
I also peeked around Macy’s luggage section, and found some really nice lightweight luggage options! If you know your mom needs luggage, it is honestly the gift that keeps on giving. My grandparents got me a luggage set when I graduated from high school, and Dan and I got a nice set when we got married. Literally the best and most practical gift for mom who loves to travel!
Unique Mothers Day Gifts for the Beverage-Loving Mom
While Francesca’s might make you think of clothing and jewelry, they actually have a knock-out gift selection. A fun new coffee-mug is always a hit, especially since she will use it a lot. I also just discovered Corkcicle travel cups, which will keep mom’s beverage hot or cold for a long time! My mom likes to go to summer outdoor music shows and takes a picnic, so this type of cup would be perfect to keep her white wine cold! I’m thinking I will need one too (In August)!
Unique Mothers Day Gifts for the Mom Who Loves to Cook & Entertain
Finally, the mom who loves to cook and/or entertain. I headed to Macy’s for this one. They have so many options that my head was spinning, but here are a few ideas to get you started. A Le Creuset dutch oven is a really nice gift. Everyone I know who has one raves about it, because it can to both on the stove top and in the oven. The pretty colors make it easy to put on the table and serve out of, too.
My mom has an Instant Pot and she is obsessed! It cooks your soups and stews in a fraction of the time it would take in a normal pot on the stove. And the flavors meld together super quickly. I asked my mom what she likes to make, and she said she has made lentil soup, a morocco chickpea dish, and also homemade spaghetti sauce with her instant pot.
This might seem like an odd gift, but I promise it is worthy! A nice chef’s knife will be so practical and appreciated. My mother-in-law bought me a really nice knife for my birthday once (she knows I love to cook) and it has brought me SO much joy! There’s something about slicing a pepper or an apple with a nice knife that makes cooking so much for fun.
Finally, Michael Aram creates stunning entertaining pieces that will wow everyone that comes to your mother’s home. I personally have too much (said no one ever) but I l really love my ice bucket, cheese board, serving platter, and nut bowls. I also have a couple of picture frames and Judaica that I cherish.
Woodfield Mall Mother’s Day Shopping Experience
If you’re near Woodfield Mall or have the chance to stop by, it should be your first and last stop for Mother’s day shopping! Like I said in my Spring Fashion post, I do most of my shopping online, but from time to time I love to go to the stores to touch and feel the products and get a sense of what’s hot right now. With so many options in one place, Woodfield mall has something for every momma. DON’T FORGET, Mother’s day is on May 12!
Woodfield Mall Paint & Sip Soiree – Thursday May 9!
Before you go, I wanted to let you know that Woodfield Mall is celebrating Mother’s Day with its inaugural Paint & Sip Soiree from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, May 9, in the mall’s Grand Court! The event invites moms and friends to enjoy live music, wine, hors d’oeuvres, swag bags, giveaways and quality time together, as they paint.
