Happy Friday! Prepare For The Polar Vortex with your Favorite Coy Sweaters!
So I saw this hilarious post on Facebook. It was an old post from last year, but a weather man was telling people how many bottles of wine they needed to get through a big storm on the east coast, based on their geographical area. It made me think about how the temperatures are going to drop to a “feels like 10 degrees” level next week, and how hard it is going to be to actually leave the apartment. Best to stock up on some wine…and cozy sweaters.
My polar vortex advice is to stop what you’re doing and order this sweater. Like immediately. It is SO cozy, the prettiest neutral soft color, and the pom details are the loveliest. I absolutely adore it. Although most of the stores are starting to stock spring items, there is certainly no spring in sight. So I’m still loving on my cozy sweaters, and actually just picked up this one (use code 1glass15 for 15% off) and this one (on sale!) the other day. I’m still wearing the one from this post really often, too! I just love the burnt orange and the poncho style. Plus, it helps hide that winter fluff, if you know what I mean.
Sometimes your favorite cozy sweater needs a little accessory. LE J Jewelry sent me this pretty necklace (apparently called the “sweater necklace”) and I love how dainty it is with the different colored gemstones. It’s the perfect little piece to compliment any outfit.
My Weekend Visitors
My parents are coming to visit this weekend (yay!) and it is the first time they’re going to see our new condo. Cleveland is only a 6 hour drive from Chicago, which is soo nice. They can just pop over without the fuss of packing light and flying. Since my dad is really handy (I know I’m spoiled) he is going to help me fix some things around the house. He built the house we grew up in, which is something I will always remember. I love how he involved us kids – by having us hand him tools, letting us pick out paint and carpet colors, and he always answered our questions while taking our child-input into account. Although our favorite part was probably using the mounds of dirt from digging the foundation as small sledding hills, haha!
I have curtains to install, this mirror to hang (such a steal), and a few problems to diagnose. I have to go back and take a look at this post on entertaining guests to make sure I’m ready for their arrival. White wine for mom, red for dad. Some vegan croissants for my dad and other tasty breakfast foods for everyone. I’m still working on training my cats to be polite angels. They always want to hang out with my mom and never leave her alone, haha!
Anyway! Here are some of my current cozy sweater picks that will help you survive the last couple months of winter! Are you still purchasing winter items, or have you moved on to spring? Let me know in a comment below!

You showed so many pretty sweaters here that it is hard to choose my favorite! The cape sweater looks like a winner to hide some post holiday indulging! Having a pretty sweater makes the cold weather more bearable!
