Having my parents here this weekend to see our new condo was SO amazing. Aaaaand we spent most of the weekend doing my home improvement projects, as I predicted on Friday. My parents are saints, they helped us do so many things around the house that I wouldn’t have been able to do myself. I’m relatively handy, but my Dad made a career out of it. So he has the tools, the eye, and the experience that I certainly lack. Now we have curtains (yay!) pantry shelves, a new smoke detector, abandoned wall art hung, and many other projects done.
Since my dad is a vegan, we got to try out some Chicago places that I’ve been dying to go to since we moved here. The Chicago Diner is a favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurant that is praised by both non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike. Their vegan milkshake is to die for, and I had a vegetarian reuben made with corned seitan. Unbelievable. I’ll put some photos of our weekend in my Friday newsletter for all you lucky subscribers.
My Fluffy Coat
I saw this fluffy coat during the holidays, but didn’t get a chance to order it until after all the holiday content madness. It reminds me of a glam snow queen, which will have to be my new nickname after all the snow we’ve been getting. The fluffy faux fur on the bottom half is my favorite. These boots are the best otk boots I own because they actually stay up my legs. The kind that tie in the back never stay up on me, but these elastic ones finally do. I’m so thrilled about the color, too! They also come in black and gray.
