Happy Monday everyone! I don’t know about you, but when I walk down the beverage aisle at the grocery store or look at a coffee shop menu my head spins. There are SO many options! And as a beverage lover, I want to try them all. But they aren’t all good for us. Here are some of my fave healthier drinks that taste delicious but won’t pack on extra calories.

Happy Monday! Cruising and Chicago Pride!
My weekend was jam-packed but SO full of fun! On Friday Dan and I saw Incredibles 2, and it was just so cute. I highly recommend it! Edna is my favorite character, and I nearly squealed and squeezed Dan’s hand so tightly when she made her appearance.
On Saturday I went on my first Chicago architecture boat cruise! My parents got us tickets for my birthday back in January, and I just redeemed them through Chicago Line Cruises. The guide was A+, and it was so fun to learn about all the buildings I walk by every day. I highly recommend it if you are ever visiting Chicago!
And finally, Sunday I participated in the Chicago Pride parade with the WGN radio float. We passed out beads, hand sanitizer, and rainbow bracelets, and I basically made sure I gave every kid I saw a freebie. Seeing so many pride supporters made my heart so full; I have a smile permanently stuck on my face. Sometimes reading the news and keeping up with politics is just so darn depressing. I really needed an uplifting day to show me that my community is on the same page as me. The entire experience was pure joy!
Options for Healthier Drinks
So let’s talk beverages! One of my favorite topics EVERRRR. Here are some of my favorite healthier drinks.
1.Kombucha. Kombucha is a bit of an acquired taste, but one you go there you’ll never want to go back. It is a fermented tea that contains tons of beneficial gut probiotics. It always makes my sensitive stomach feel better. My favorite brand right now is Health Ade Kombucha.
2. Zevia. If you love bubbly soda but want to transition away from the yucky stuff, I think you’d love Zevia. It is sweetened with Stevia, rather than other gross sugars or sugar substitute. And it comes in 14 flavors! I love the Dr. Zevia flavor and the ginger ale. I also want to try making these cookies with it.
3. La Croix. You guys already know this. I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but La Croix is king in my apartment. My favorite flavor is Peach-Pear.
4. Champagne. If you’re going to indulge in a cocktail, then I usually go for sparkling wine, prosecco, cava…whatever you like to call it. It is lower in calories and sugar, and will only set you back about 90 calories a glass. Plus whenever you drink it you will feel like you’re celebrating. Trader Joe’s has a delicious and affordable ($6) bottle called Blanc de Blancs.
5. Coffee. The coffee menus these days are super overwhelming, with different combinations of espresso, 8 types of milk, and tons of flavor options. The trick is to stick to boring. I usually get a latte with almond milk or coconut milk, with no sweet flavorings. I started drinking coffee in high school and stopped adding sugar when my dad decided he wanted to quit sugar. I followed suit because I thought it was cool to drink coffee without sugar -it made me feel like a badass grown up. I’m so happy that I now enjoy the taste of coffee without having to add more things to change the fundamental flavor. Once you train yourself to drink your coffee without sweetener, then you are free!
I’d love to hear what some of your favorite healthier drinks are!

I have always wanted to do one of those boat tours in Chicago, one of my most favorite cities. Love that you participated in the pride parade too and your city is known for accepting all LGBT members. Last, such a cute outfit, especially the skirt and necklace. Thanks for educating me on all those drinks, too – bookmarked this post. 😉
I am doing a very special all-skirts week of collaboration posts this week on the blog, come take a peak. =) The new Thursday Moda linkup just went live too, this outfit would be perfect to link with it since you are wearing an adorable skirt! Thanks.

Its lower calorie count is just one of the many reasons why I love champagne—it’s chic and diet-friendly! 🙂

My hubby bought a water bottle from Amazon that keeps ice water cold for 48 hours. I need one! I don’t like fizz, so some of the ones that sound good that don’t have fizz would be good. Does La Croix have fizz? My sis in law likes it too. Thanks for these recommendations. i also use Crystal Light and love the grape and lemonade flavor added to water. Love your skirt, beautiful color, so cute with the Vans!

Roxanne, this outfit is adorable! And the pictures are equally adorable. Isn’t it so fun when you attend an event and come home with a sore face from smiling all day?! I love when that happens. And thanks for sharing your healthier beverage options…my current summer go-to cocktail is vodka, water, and lime. No sugar except the little bit in the lime and about the same amount of calories as a glass of champagne. And I don’t feel full and gross like I do after too much beer or wine or sugary mixed drinks. Have a great week, my friend!

I’m so boring when it comes to drinks. Either I’m drinking water or wine—hmmmm….I wonder what that says about me?? Although we do have tea most afternoons—that’s healthy!!
Love the outfit, Roxanne!!

Sounds like you had a busy but fun weekend! I took a boat ride when I visited Chicago years ago and it was great! I love learned a bit more about cities I visit so when I tag along with hubby for his business trips and I am left to explore by myself. I love to sign up for city tours and foodie tours. It’s such a fun way to explore and not get lost but also get a feel for “everything,” I have heard of kombucha and need to try. I am not big on tea so that’s why the hold up but I do love coffee! I don’t put sugar on mine just a little bit of milk. Nothing quite like coffee if you ask me. Lol ? Love your scallop skirt. So cute!
