We all have goals for 2019, right? I prefer to call them “goals” rather than resolutions.
Some 2019 Goals
1.Read at Least 10 Books This Year.
Michelle and I made this goal together. Some of you may be big readers, and think that our goal is a bit too easy. But we decided that things get busy at certain times of year, so while we might be reading 2-3 books right out the gate, there will most likely be an inevitable lull as we get pulled in other directions. If we surpass our goal, then yay! Better to surpass than to fail to meet expectations. Here are a few books on my list for this year:
2.Cook More At Home.
With all the moving we’ve done in the past few years (read: every single year for the past 4 years) I finally have a place in my kitchen for everything. And a PANTRY! My goodness I feel spoiled. With such a beautiful kitchen where everything has a dedicated spot, I decided that I’m going to honor my kitchen and cook more. I love cooking and enjoy knowing what is going into my food. Preparing our own meals will make us feel healthier, and we will save some money, too!
I really love meal delivery boxes like SunBasket and HomeChef, too, for weeks where I can’t bring myself to grocery shop, or I need some recipe inspiration. I’ve found that these two subscriptions have more healthy options than the others.
3.Entertain.
Now that we have a condo of our own (home tour coming soon!) I can finally feel proud to call a space my own. And that means getting rid of boxes and things that just don’t fit. In past years I never even bothered to unpack certain things because I knew that we would be moving in 12 months or less. Ya feel? When I don’t feel proud of my space then I don’t feel comfortable inviting people over. Because it feels like I’m inviting them into my mess, if that makes sense. But now that I’m feeling confident about our home, I want to entertain and have people over more.
4.Write From The Heart.
After looking back on last year’s posts, I realized that I didn’t dig as deep as I had in past years. Instead of outfit posts with little meaning, I really want to show you guys who I am and how I’m feeling. This might be a tough transition, since I can be a bit of a private person (believe it or not), but I know it will pay off in the end. The reason I started this blog is because I love writing, and the truth is…I need to get back to some real talk writing. It is my favorite type of post to read, and my favorite type of post to compose. The posts that make me feel most connected to you all are ones that made me feel vulnerable, like when Elwood had his accident. Body positivist posts like this one, that make me feel like a crazy person for writing, looking back at how fit I was.
5.Up My Photography Game.
Since I have Michelle, I’ve really let my photography game go slack. I love the logic and balance that goes into taking a good photograph. I love the final product, but it is really nice to know the how and why behind a certain aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. It gives me a better understanding of my own work. Plus, it is nice to be able to talk to Michelle about these things. I just bought myself a Sigma 24mm art lens, and I’m excited to give it a whirl!
I have so many more goals, but these ones are tangible things that I know I can fully achieve. They’re not too lofty, and I know they’ll serve me well in 2019. Do you have any of the same 2019 goals as me? Let me know in a comment below!

Congratulations on your new lovely home. I prefer to cook at home, even though I dislike cooking (think protein a vegetable and a bit of fat). It’s cheaper & way less fattening. I would love to read deeper aspects of you and your life. Sometimes I feel as though I’m lost in a wilderness of clothes bloggers, which is not me, I am way too shy for that, and I know that people love to “know’ other people. Having said that, you do glam really well, and I love glam!!

Thank you so much! It’s so good that you cook at home. It all depends on whether I was focused at the grocery store the previous weekend, haha. That’s so sweet of you! I will do my best to stick to that goal for you!

Love! Love! Love these!!! I am totally on board with you about needing to read more-it is such an escape! Call me out when I get stressed and yell at me to go read 😉 Love you, Roxbox!

Thank you lovely! You are SO right about reading being an escape! It has made such a difference in my nighttime routine to read for 30 minutes instead of scrolling through social media. And I feel like I’m learning something, even though I’m currently reading fiction, haha.
