I am SO proud of my sister for graduating from COLLEGE! She is so smart and honestly one of the most amazing people I know. We took the train to New Haven over the weekend (a 5ish hour ride from DC) and got to partake in all the commencement activities. The activities included lots of hugging and cheering for my sister at the official events, delicious meals with the family, doing the Mory’s cup challenge, and playing banana-grams.

My mom, brother, and Dan were all art directing this shoot. So when my mom was like “oh yeah hold onto the light pole it’ll be cute!” I had some fun with it. Life is too short, people.
Yale’s campus is so gorgeous. I like how the old campus mixes with the newer parts effortlessly. There were ceremonies in almost every major area on campus, so we were able to walk around a enjoy all of the picturesque settings. Dan and I broke out into the Harry Potter theme song after turning almost every corner and seeing another gothic looking nook. We had so much fun.
The Mory’s Cup tradition occurs at the Mory’s restaurant at Yale. Basically, they fill up a big silver trophy-cup with some champagne-based cocktail, and you sing a crazy song, then you pass it around your group and drink. You can’t put the cup down until you finish the entire thing.
Then, when it gets to a point where the last person thinks they can finish it, they announce that they are polishing it off, and another crazy song is sung while said person (my sister in this instance) finishes the drink, turns it upside down on their head, spins it around to dry it off, and places it on a napkin to show that there isn’t a drop left. It was crazy but really fun! More schtick than you can shake a stick at!
The weather was on and off, so I packed one pair of jeans, two dresses (one short, one maxi), sneakers, sandals, a light sweater, and a jacket. It ended up being really perfect. When I travel I like to pack easy outfits, but spice them up with jewelry and lipstick because accessories and makeup are lightweight.
I bought this particular dress from Old Navy last summer and I took on on our honeymoon to Italy. It is one of those dresses that can get all crumpled and still look amazing. Old Navy has some great deals on dresses like all the time. Since mine is long gone, I linked some other favorites.
Congrats, Moog. I love you and am so proud!

Speaking of accessories – I love that double-layer gold necklace (visible really well in the close-up photo)! Something about it is unique enough to look cool and stylish while simple enough to look delicate and classy.
Congrats again Moriah! (Rox, the light post pic is my fav. Had me chuckling at my desk…!)
