Since Dan has been on paternity leave, we’ve been taking Sidney out to explore new lunch spots almost every day. Sidney takes a long nap in the afternoon – so it is perfect! All the moms tell me to take advantage of this stage when your newborn is so portable. I feed her, she zonks out, and we pop her in the stroller for our daily lunch date. I wore this goddess maxi dress out to lunch one of those days!
I call this my “mom goddess” dress. First, because the flattering cut makes you look like a literal statue. Second, because it makes me feel really good as my body slowly returns to normal. Well…a little more normal than the belly bump!
Although the weather is cooling off in Chicago, a maxi dress like this one is still the perfect piece. I like to throw my favorite jean jacket under the stroller or in the car in case it gets a little breezy. Maxi dresses are perfect for transitioning to your fall wardrobe because they still keep your legs warm, and you can layer all your cute jackets and cardigans over them. I’m personally SO excited to bust out my moto jacket!

Oh, yes. definitely enjoy this stage. Enjoy nap times too. Hopefully she’ll keep napping for many years to come, but you never know.
