Sweet Home, Chicago
We just got home from our trip to Palm Springs and San Diego. Like, we walked in the door at 4:20pm and it is now 7:30pm. I though we would be coming home to zero degree weather, but Chicago surprised us with a welcome home gift of 64 degrees! We did a quick grocery shop to get some fresh food, and threw some stuff on the grill for dinner. Quickly followed by bath time and bed for Sidney.
I’m a little worried about how the time change + daylight savings will affect her, but we’ll take it day by day. She did great adjusting to west coast time, so I’m hoping the transition back to central will be an easy shift. Traveling with Sidney was the most rewarding and fun time, but there definitely were some challenges. Overall she was a champ on the long plane ride and adapted to being schlepped around quite well. I plan to write a post about traveling with a baby soon!
The Boc Flats You Need
I got these boc flats just before our trip, and I’m not kidding when I say they feel like butter. And the soles are the perfectly squishy kind that don’t need any breaking in time. This is my first pair of shoes by b.o.c and I’m wondering what took me so long. They’re called the Suree! The brand sort of reminds me of one of my favorites, Naturalizer.
These flats come up high on your foot so you don’t have to grip your toes to keep them on, if that makes sense. Sometimes flats look cute but they give you foot fatigue. They’re perfect for commuting, travel, work, and long walks around the city. The Suree style comes in a bunch of colors, but I really like the off white because they’re neutral and springy.
I’m excited to style these as Chicago transitions to spring. Slowly, but eventually.

I am so glad Sidney did so well with your west coast travel. It’s so fulfilling when you can take your little one traveling and exploring but it can also be challenging. Either way, the rewards and life lessons are priceless. I love your dress here and those shoes look very comfy. I wear flats like 99% of the time and love easy to wear, comfy shoes. I’ll have to check this out! Happy Monday Roxanne and wishing a great week ahead!

You look so pretty in your tropical locale. Lucky you that Sydney travelled so well! I like the style of these shoes. IMO finding a comfortable, enclosed flat is a challenge.

I always admired people who traveled effortlessly with children. I only take my kids are on long car rides and that is enough stress for me! I am so glad that Sydney was a good travel baby. Super cute dress and shoes, too, by the way!
