Well, HELLO, after two weeks of not posting!
I skipped posting for the past two weeks. With the recent charge of world issues, my day to day life has seemed quite insignificant. I thought it would be best to take a step back to learn, educate myself, and think. While this blog is my income and passion, a fashion and lifestyle blog would have distracted you all from the important issues at hand. So a couple weeks off is the least I could do. But I’m back now and am excited to share a life update and my weekly Monday link up!
Hiatus Update and Monday Link Up
So, what have we been up to? Well, a lot. As is the case with most big cities, Chicagoans took to the streets to voice their concern and pain. There were (and still are) protests in our neighborhood, some looting, but mostly lots and lots of support for black lives matter. I’m proud to be a Chicagoan.
As Covid-19 restrictions have begun to lift, we’ve been enjoying the perks! We took Sidney to eat out on a few patios, and even went out for dinner for Dan’s 33rd birthday (I posted the cute jumpsuit I wore on Instagram). Sidney is so funny, she hasn’t been too socialized since February, so she loves looking at everyone and enjoying the restaurant experience.
Besides the new sexy re-openings, life has been great. Daily walks are a staple, and we love plopping in the park so Sidney can crawl around and squeal at all the doggies. The Chicago public parks are really beautiful. They’re clean, spacious, and full of families. That’s where we took these photos!
My “summer mom” uniform is in full swing! I wear these jean shorts at least once a week, and I love how they’re a little different than regular shorts! The two-tone denim makes them a little bit more fun and different, while still being subtle. I love this Bella tee, but sadly it is old.
I recently bought two of these light tank tops (in black and white) to wear with shorts, jeans, and skirts, because my existing black and white tops were getting old and ratty from overwear. They are perfect with these shorts!
Sidney’s little cherry blossom onesie is from Monica + Andy. They carry the cutest and softest baby clothes that actually get softer every time you wash them. I’m not sure how that’s possible, but their magicians make it happen. They release fun prints every season, like strawberries (loved this on Sidney), English garden, and Lemonade stand. Since I know the quality is amazing, I love gifting Monica + Andy outfits to new babies and baby friends.

It seems a lot of people took break when the BLM protests were is full swing. It was such a solemn time that it was important to give it space. We had protests here in Las Vegas too. For the most part they were peaceful. As often happens with these protests, it can draw the crazies. The police had to take out a guy in full body armor, and a policeman was shot and severely wounded in a separate incident. I don’t think these two cared about the protest at all, but just saw it as an opportunity. I was very pleased when the public defenders had their own small protest, pointing out that they fight the BLM fight everyday.
Glad you and yours are all okay. Sidney is adorable!
