Stuck At Home
So yeah, we’re stuck at home, too. The governor of Illinois issued a shelter in place order as of Saturday night, but we’ve been here chillin’ since Monday. It is kind of relaxing to slow down and know that even if I wanted to be out running errands, I couldn’t. I’m taking this time to read, cook, organize corners of our condo that need major TLC (hello closet and junk drawers), play with Sidney, pet our kitties and do a at home swimwear try on session.
At Home Swimwear Try On
Sooo I took these swimsuits to Palm Springs thinking I’d have a chance to wear and shoot them, but we were too busy being tourists to go to the pool more than once. In the past couple of weeks the Coronavirus started to take its toll on life. Since we are stuck at home and have no travel plans to go anywhere warm, I did a little at home swimwear try-on.
I don’t typically love mirror selfies, but this is the best I could do under the circumstances, mmkay!? I would much rather shoot swimwear at a pool or beach with palm trees around me, but we can still make being homebound fun.
Also peep my baby peanut in the background concentrating on her toy. She started to get frustrated after awhile so she joined in on the shoot.
I love a flattering 1 piece – especially since having a baby! The tie waist makes the suit interesting, and vertical stripes are certainly slimming.
This one comes in 3 variations and is only $12! I’m wearing a large. Use code 3BIK086 for an extra 15% off. |

I recall writing a post about how much I love tie dye at the moment. When I saw this tie dye bikini I had to have it! The high waist bottom is perfect for holding in some of the loose skin I still have post-pregnancy.
It’s $11 and comes in two color options! I’m wearing a large. Use code 3BIK086 for an extra 15% off. |

This swimsuit is one of my favorites of all time! The ruffle bandeau top keeps weird tan lines away, and I love a high waist bottom. I have a large!
I wasn’t going to post this photo because I don’t love the way it fits my body these days, but after giving it a second thought I decided to post it anyway, loose skin and all! This pic makes me think that I should have tried harder to work out and eat healthier the past seven months, and makes me feel bad that other moms bounced back faster than me. But then I woke up from that stupid daydream and realized that I’ve accomplished so much, so why focus on imperfections! Being a mom is HARD work! I wake up and show up for her every single day, rain or shine, whenever she needs me. When in my pre-mommy days I would have worked out at 6am or made myself a salad, now I’m busy getting up early with her and thinking of ways to make her love avocado. I’m grateful for my body for what (more like who!) it has given me, even the extra pounds and loose skin.
It looked fabulous with a bump though! Just sayin. It comes in 9 different colors and is only $12. |

This one has such a fun leafy print, and the side cutouts make the suit cute and interesting. My exact suit is sold out, but I linked a really similar one!
My jammy-clad mini insisted on being in this photo! Remember when I wore this lemon one piece this past summer? It’s still a favorite – I love the print! |
Even though we are all home-bound, I hope this swimwear post lets you daydream about better days – when we can all start planning our next trip to somewhere tropical. Or perhaps by the time we get out it will be time for the local pool, haha! Either way – bathing suit shopping is fun!

Roxanne, you look beautiful in all of your various swimsuits! Sidney is adorable! I like your healthy attitude toward body positivity. I’ve always thought it a shame when someone mourns for their 18 year old body – a body that hasn’t yet really lived, a body that hasn’t had any children, a body without life experience. All of our loose skin, and wrinkles tell a story of our life.

These are all cute swimsuits Roxanne and you rocked them all! My favorites are the tie dye print separates and the leaf print one piece – very cute and giving me all the warm weather vibes. I hear ya on the stay at home order. We have been staying at home too but it’s nothing different from before. So, it’s not quite a big change for us but I am embracing it anyway because more time with my little guy. Pictures of Sidney had me reminiscing of my son when he was at her age. She’s too cute btw! I hope this week started off great for you and happy Monday!

I love the pale pink one and the last one as I am obsessed with the lemon print! So cute. Your daughter is a doll! She was probably fascinated at what mommy was doing!
take care,

You look beautiful in a swimsuit no matter what! What a great example to set for the peanut. 🙂 Good luck with the avocado, I’m sure she will love it!

Can I just applaud you over and over and over again! You look great! But here is what I am really happy and proud of you for, that you are embracing your post pregnancy body. I struggled so much for so long and boy do I wish I had your wisdom and outlook back then, heck even now some days. Your words encourage and empower. They support and give women confidence in themselves too. Well done. Love all the bathing suits and man am I hoping that this nightmare will be over by summertime with the least amount of sick people as possible.

Thank you SO so much, Bojana! I don’t see motherhood as the end of an era – I see it as the beginning! Little lumps and bumps aren’t devastating like they used to be. I’m not perfect though. For some reason I’m still holding on to favorite pairs of jeans that don’t fit anymore! I”ll get around to saying goodbye to those eventually 😉

Roxanne, you looks so fabulous! And it is so important to embrace our post baby bodies for the miracles that they are! When you think about what your body did…it grew a freaking human being…then there can be no shame in how we look after the fact! I love all your swim suits but I think the tie dye is my fave. I have been wanting a tie dye swim suit myself, but it is snowing here today so I am definitely not in a shopping online for swim suits mood! I love your approach to quarantine. I am right there with you!
