Hello from Nashville!
Nashville is one of may favorite cities of all time. We are here for a family reunion, and it has been so much fun to watch Sidney meet even more family members! We decided to drive, since it is only 7 hours from Chicago. That way we could pack all our baby gear in the car without having to worry about packing economically. I’m currently in our hotel room at the Gaylord Opryland Resort while Sidney is taking a snooze. I’ve been taking her around the hotel to look at all the pretty plants, dangling lights, and gorgeous fall decor.
We spent most of today in Opryland’s new massive waterpark. It is called Soundwaves! I sat with Sidney while the Uncles and Nephews went down all the water slides, but it looked like so much fun! I admit I got my day drink on, too!
County Line Apple Orchard
I always dreamed of plopping my child in a pumpkin patch and taking cute photos of him/her. Maybe its a weird thing to wish for, but I grew up going to an apple orchard with my family and oogled at all the babies being photographed amongst the pumpkins! Thanks to my darling friend and photographer, Michelle, that dream finally came true! We went out to County Line Orchard with Michelle and her husband last year (see what I wore), and continued the tradition this year with Sidney in tow.
And guess what – Michelle (pictured with me in the last photo) is pregnant and due in February! So next year will be even merrier because Sidney will have a new girlfriend! I met Michelle 2 years ago when I first moved to Chicago (here is one of our first shoots) and I didn’t fully realize that we would become best friends and mamas together. But here we are! I can’t wait to experience this exciting part of our lives together.
Of course it was like 90 degrees the day we went, and Sidney’s pink hue reflects that, haha! She also just woke up when we arrived at the orchard, so she was making silly stretching faces when we snapped some pics. But they’re adorable to me. Despite the weather, I was determined to wear my new favorite plaid dress (I caved and bought it on my last trip to Woodfield Mall). The dress is SO soft and cozy. I know it is a bit pricey, so I found a really similar one for just $22!
I hope you get a chance to visit an apple orchard this fall! My favorite apples are Honey Crisp and Gala. We picked some Gala as well as a variety called Jonah Gold! Both made for a really tasty apple crisp.

How fun and Sidney looks so cute! I love your plaid dress and it’s the perfect outfit for an apple orchard. I love the contrast between the green leaves and red apples – very beautiful. That’s so amazing too that Michelle will be a mama. It’s so nice that your kids will be so close in age and of course, that they will also be the best of friends. Happy Monday Roxanne!

How sweet that you were able to go to the apple orchard with your daughter and that your friend is also expecting! You look fabulous in your plaid.

I love our (somewhat) local apple orchard, apple picking is one of my most favorite fall activities. My kids don’t enjoy it as much anymore as they used to, but there is no better apple than the one you picked yourself. I will be picking my own apples even when the kids no longer want to be part of it 🙂
Your outfit is gorgeous, so perfect for a fun fall activity.

Thank you for the link up!
Hope you had a great weekend! I went out to a fashion show, it was a lot of fun and a bit different for me! 🙂

Roxanne, I love these photos so much! And your plaid dress is to die for. I always love when the fall photo shoots start making their rounds in blogland and social media. It is my favorite time of the year! We try to get to a pumpkin patch and corn maze every year with the kids, but we have never been to an apple orchard. I think we need to go to one. We have lots around here so I am going to check into it for next weekend! Thanks for the inspiration. By the way, some of my favorite photos of my kids when they were babies have them propped up against pumpkins!!!
