Welcome to a new week! I’m sitting outside enjoying the glorious weather in Chicago…and watching the birds have a grand old time taking a bath in on our pool cover. Yes, we bought a house with a pool. We didn’t really want one due to the expense and liability, but the rest of the home was perfect so here we are! I think that we will certainly learn to love it, especially when our own back yard feels like vacation all summer. And Sidney will love it most of all.
Unlike some of you guys in warm and/or southern states, we won’t even think about opening our pool until the weather is consistently warmer – probably early June! In the past I probably only wore a swimsuit 5-6 times a year. Now I feel like I’ll be wearing one every day this summer. Another excuse to shop for cute swim clothes for Sidney!
The Amazon Dress
I posted this dress on Instagram and everyone freaked out! I love it, too! It is under $30, comes in 13 colors, and is true to size. I like the tie waist detail because it is super flattering. I wore it when we went to a local park to explore and chase Sidney around, which is why I’m standing at the edge of a baseball field in this photo, haha!
Sidney isn’t the type to play on the actual playground. She prefers to run around in the grass, pick up the dirt…and forge her own path. I realize I’m in trouble with this type of personality but she makes life fun and interesting. We discover corners of the park that I wouldn’t care about otherwise.

Congratulations again on the new home. We’ve had two homes with pools that our family enjoyed immensely but we do live in a warmer climate. I so enjoy hearing/seeing the antics of your little one – she reminds me of my own daughter at that age. And last but not least, that dress is awesome. You look fabulous in it.

That is a really cute dress, the wrap detail is lovely! 🙂 Such good news that you bought a house as well! 🙂 It can be so hard to find a house without a pool! We ended up building as we wanted a bigger yard rather than a smaller yard and a pool – we do miss our old pool now and then but the kids use the garden more than they would a pool I think! 🙂
