How Was NYFW This Weekend?!
Fashion week was absolutely incredible – the best I’ve been to yet. Having Michelle there with me made such a difference because her unique perspective inspired me a thousand fold. Plus seeing some of my best blogger girlfriends from DC was rejuvenating.
Besides getting to see some incredible and innovative fashion, we strutted around the city in our glittery and colorful outfits together. When you’re with like minds, you truly feel so much more confident and unstoppable! We also laughed our butts off – I don’t think I’ve laughed like that in so long! More posts to come, but for now check out my Instagram to see what I wore. Like I said in this post, the goal this year was super extra and over the top, and I think we succeeded.
Incorporating Pops of Neon Into Your Wardrobe
A lot of us tend to gravitate towards neutrals – blacks, browns, beige and gray. Perhaps those colors make us feel slimmer, more confident, they hide stains, or they’re subtle for our jobs. When I put together this outfit, I knew that it needed a pop of something bright. The perfect opportunity to wear my fluffy Tuleste earrings!
I say neon rather than any generic “color” because neon is IN, my friends. I started to see inklings of neon on social media and in ads, and my suspicion that neon was “a thing” was solidified at Fashion Week. Neon everywhere.
But since neon is a bit intimidating, try to incorporate neon accessories with your already-neutral wardrobe. Adding a few accessories will allow you to affordably try a trend that is fun, but may not be long-lasting. And if you’re feeling bolder, graduate to this turtleneck (I wore it in NYC this weekend.) Here are some neon accessories I love!

Such a fabulous outfit Roxanne! I love the fishtail skirt…I just bought a check one on eBay! I’m quite pleased to see neon on trend for Spring – I know it’s not everyone’s thing but it’s fun to add one or two bright accessories to an outfit.

Roxanne, this outfit of yours is so freaking fabulous! You are sassy and chic, my friend! And I am so glad you shared these tips for incorporating neon because I have a post coming soon where neon is the theme and I have been struggling with it! I haven’t worn neon since the 80’s and I am having trouble even finding something I can work with, but I think you are right on the money that accessories is the way to go! Have a great week.
