If you follow me on instagram you know that we have been apartment hunting. We want to save some money (don’t we all?) but don’t want to sacrifice a thriving neighborhood, or a washing machine (I’m a diva).
We ventured over to the Capitol Hill/H street neighborhood in North East DC to see what it was like. It is really up and coming and there are a lot of great things to do there. The neighborhood is little different than where we live right now (The Dupont Circle/Logan Circle/NorthWest) but in an exciting way. I think we are going to go for it!

After seeing the most gorgeous, green, spacious apartment building, we walked to DC Harvest on H Street to check out the food scene that would potentially be around us. DC Harvest was AMAZING! I got a scramble with sweet potatoes and a mimosa, of course. I think husband of glam got the steak and eggs. Not a drop of food was spared.
After brunch we walked around the neighborhood. I like to see if people are are strolling about before I decide I like a neighborhood. Luckily there were people of all ages, lots of young people with strollers, and people walking their dogs. All things I like to see. And some rows of really pretty well-kept homes.

We finally stumbled upon a coffee shop called Ebenezer’s Coffe House. To refuel, I picked out the iced honey lavender latte. It was INSANELY good. Ebenezer’s also has live music from time to time.
While walking around we also spotted a Mexican restaurant, French place, a pub, and a ramen spot! They are also building a brand new Whole Foods, thanks goodness. I like to eat some weird organic things that they just don’t carry in other grocery stores (for example, I prefer my almond milk to be Carrageenan-free. Whatevs.)
What do you guys look for in a new neighborhood?

That sounds like a great neighborhood. I love lively cities with a good scene of restaurants, bars, stores, unique cafes, cute boutiques and adorable down-towns. That food from the first photo looks amazing and your outfit was perfect to stroll there. Love the necklace!
