I love any opportunity to dress up. I like wearing dresses and skirts, but it has been really cold and windy in DC and I’ve been wearing pants a lot as a result. However, I am determined to wear a pretty skirt on Valentine’s Day, even if I have to wear tights!

I’ve been holding on to this Forever 21 skirt for a special occasion. Unfortunately, it is now sold out. (Lucky for you, I found this one from Charlotte Russe for less!) Because of the chilly weather, I decided to wear a bright pink sweater underneath for warmth. Full disclosure: I got this sweater from SheIn, and while I rarely have any problems with them, this purchase was a dud. It is low quality and did not photograph well. However, I loved the rest of this Valentines Day look and the color scheme, so I still wanted to share it.

I love all the different shades of pink and red, from the burgundy skirt, to the bright pink sweater, the peachy heels and the mauve bag.

On Valentine’s day, Dan and I typically like to do something together rather than getting each other more stuff. We try to go to dinner together or try something new that we haven’t before. It is my kittys’ birthday on Valentine’s day (Jake and Elwood will be 3 this year!) so we give them a gift and extra treats.

This year we were late to the reservations game and could only get a reservation for 8:45pm! That’s okay though, we will find a find place for drinks before and do more kitty-birthday partying. And it takes me like 3 hours to get ready for my man anyway.
