DC Restaurant Week at Floriana – Burgundy Midi Skirt

in Fall outfits, Food & Drinks, Style, Summer outfits on 08/23/16

Restaurant week is a great opportunity to try a restaurant that might normally be out of your price range or a dish that you would not usually get. DC’s impressive list of participating restaurants was so intimidating! When my friend Vivi asked if I wanted in on a group dinner, I was relieved that she, a DC native, chose the restaurant instead of me.

She chose Floriana, an Italian spot in Dupont Circle. In true blogger fashion, we took some shots of my burgundy and white ensemble before dinner. Thank you Dani for taking these photos!

Floriana’s restaurant week allowed you to pick one appetizer, one entree, and a desert for $35. Normally, their entrees are $15-30 so the restaurant week price was worth it. The space was small but cozy. We were stoked that prosecco was included in the 1/2 price bottle of wine promotion, which is pretty rare!

Since it was so busy, the staff adopted an “all hands on deck” approach, which was so appraciated. The office manager, who undoubtedly did not have hosting or waiting tables in his job description, took the time to wait on tables and make sure everyone was happy. I really dislike when someone will not do a necessary task just because it is not in their formal job description.

I picked the caprese salad and salmon, and both were delicious! For desert I had gelato, yum.

As for my outfit, I was rushing after work to meet Vivi and Dani so I picked a simple tee (mine cost $7) and a burgundy skirt, last worn here. I’m really loving my Rocksbox this month, in which I received this fringe and turquoise necklace, really cool statement ring, and Kendra Scott earrings.

Did you try DC restaurant week/does your city have a restaurant week?

Thank you Dani for taking these photos

This skirt is perfect for all seasons. I would totally pair it with a sweater for the fall

A few years back I was lucky enough to attend Restaurant week in Ann Arbor which is a very cool, hip city with lots of young people and colleges and has a nice down-town, too. This would probably be right my alley since I love food and wine and I have worked in the restaurant business before so I appreciate it even more as a guest. Your outfit is amazing. The jewelry you got from Rocksbox is beautiful. Looking forward to have you be my lovely co-host this week, Roxanne. =)
