Weekend Update
Being home (instead of constant traveling) for the past few weekends has been such a treat. Even though it is super cold in Chicago right now, we’ve been enjoying the ramp-up to all the holiday festivities. On Thursday my group of friends all had our astrology charts read by The Modern Astrologer, and it was CRAZY how spot-on she was about every one of us. I recorded my session so I could listen to it over and over again.
Friday evening was the first night of Christkindlmarket at the Daly Center, where we managed to snag a perfect seat in the makeshift beer hall. We sipped our gluhwein indoors to the sounds of oompah music. It is one of my favorite things to do in Chicago during the holidays! Can you believe we were in Germany around this time last year?
Other than that, we drove out to Indiana for my friend and photographer Michelle’s friendsgiving party, and ate ourselves silly. And we FINALLY went out to see Bohemian Rhapsody, which knocked my socks off. I’d say it was overall a fabulous weekend.
Trendy Workwear
Workwear can get boring. I know – because I live it day in and day out. It is so easy to throw on a pair of black pants and a blouse. But that’s honestly uninspiring and makes me feel so blah, like I didn’t even try. Chadwicks of Boston asked me to style a look from their wool collection, and I leapt at the chance.
Chadwicks has all-inclusive sizing, all at the same price. Petites, misses, tall, and plus. That’s perfect for me because I have short arms and legs and often order petite sizes when available. For trendy workwear, fit is SO important because you want to look and feel polished, and how can you do that if your clothes don’t fit correctly?
I picked out these cream wide-legged pants because they have a bit of a retro flair, which you know I love. A fitted ruby-colored crewneck sweater tucked into the flowy pants feels elegant and smooth. And, c’mon, you know I couldn’t pass up a wool coat in a gorgeous rose color. Chadwicks also asked my friends Dani and Amber to style looks, which I am obsessed with. They are both plus with completely different styles, so it is so fun to see what they chose and how they styled it. I love getting outfit inspiration from my friends!
