I’m savoring the last bits of summer, even though we all know fall won’t hit us for a full month.

Although we’ve all been posting enthusiastic memes about fall, pumpkin spice, and Hocus Pocus on Facebook, it doesn’t look or feel like fall yet here in Chicago. I think we had one cool-ish day where all the ladies (myself included) busted out our booties, plaid scarves, and moto jackets. Our excitement waned when the next day was 90 degrees, sending our fall purchases back to the closet. Darnit.
I’m trying to be in the moment and appreciate the now and the end of summer instead of wishing away the present in anticipation of the next best thing. And that certainly includes the seasons. But it is hard when fall screams warm scented candles, cuddles with tea and soft knits, and rich autumnal colors. I think most of us crave crisper weather because we’re ready for something new. Or we’re sick of our faces melting off when we try to do anything outside.
Enjoy wearing your favorite sundresses a couple more times, savor the longer days with more daylight, and embrace sitting on the patio with a refreshing glass of rosé. Before you know it, you’ll be wishing for summer again. That’s why and how I’m savoring the end of summer.

Very cute sneakers! Love it with your sundress. Easy breezy for the last bits of summer. I love the sun, but at the same time am ready for Fall. It wont be here too soon in the South, weve got a bit more warmer days.

It’s been 90 degrees here too (except when we were on our Alaskan cruise—now that’s the way to get in the fall spirit), but it is SO much better to enjoy the here and now. Besides we will be sick of scarves and boots soon enough!!

Super cute outfit, Roxanne! I need to appreciate the final warm days because once the cold sets in around here, it stays for 8 long months! But I am so ready for fall. I agree. There’s a bit of time left before summer goes into hibernation! I am definitely loving the much cooler weather in the mornings but appreciate what summer has left to give in the afternoon.
