Okay fine so that’s not how the song goes. So I spent the weekend in DC celebrating my dear friend’s wedding. I love weddings so much. The pastor said a wise thing that made me think: all couples break one promise in their first year of marriage and that is the promise to cherish. She said that the promise to love is easy, but the promise to keep something you cherish shiny and special takes work. It is hard to cherish someone when you come home from a long day of work and you’re hangry, or when he/she puts dirty dishes in the dishwasher with the clean dishes. But as all my readers who have been married for many years could probably attest – it takes effort that is worth the extra attention.
Once all these crazy April weather moments are over, I hope you’ll start thinking about dusting off your good old trusty trench coat. A trench coat is a must-have for spring. I picked this pink one out last year (you can see how I wore it here in a sort of strawberry-banana way) and I wear it every chance I get.
There’s something about a trench coat that says “hey I’m a professional fashionista because I have coats for all occasions.” The smart length, the flattering tie at the waist, and the sharp lapel are all things I love about the trench silhouette. If you don’t have a trench yet – worry not! I’ve got you covered, as I linked some coats I found at all price points.

I hope you guys have a wonderful start to your week!

My favorite look from last week was my girl Rachael from Threads for Thomas.
I’ve been trying to stay motivated to work out and eat healthy, and for me workout wear brings an unsaid enthusiasm. Seeing Rachael’s cute two piece workout set made me feel so inspired to dress cute for my workouts.
I love this spring look! What a pretty, and fun, dress, and I now need a pink trench! Thank you for the feature!

Thank you, Krista!
I agree, it takes a lot of effort to make a marriage work and cherish each moment! I love this look and that it is flirty, girly and slightly edgy too. I once had a trench coat in this gorgeous baby pink color. I wish I hadn’t left it in Albania. Your mixed prints dress is fun too and girl look at that sexy hair. Oh La La!!! =)
Welcome by Thursdays and link up with me, babe!
Cherishing is definitely harder than loving! Thanks so much, Ada!
I love that little quote from the pastor. Life can be hard when so many things are going on…..I like it though! What a great reminder. I also like your cute two tone dress!

I cherish you! Pretty outfit too!
Aww I cherish YOU!
Your dress and trench are so fun! I love the print mixing!
Bright copper kettles, and warm woolen mittens!! I hear ya, girl!! 😛
Love EVERYTHING about your outfit in this post, Roxanne, especially those white booties. I’ve been sporting them on and off myself!!
And yes, relationships are such hard work but so very worth it. My heart still skips a beat whenever I hear the key turn in the door, and my husband walks in. I still giggle and get all flushed when he calls me on the phone. And yes, we bicker. And disagree, like any other couple, but he completes me.
You’re so romantic! I can’t say that my heart skips every time I see a text, but I do appreciate him so much.
Love the trench coat, and your dress is so pretty. Thanks for hosting. Jacqui Mummabstylish

Thanks so much, Linda! It was freezing cold on the day we shot these photos, too, haha!
What a great lesson you learned at the wedding, Roxanne. And I think it’s so appropriate not only for married couples but for our friends and family too!! Because it’s hard to feel that all the time, but it’s so worth it!!
I love this dress and trench—especially together!! And I have to say, I’m glad I’m not the only one crushing on those white booties–I’ve been wearing mine non stop!!
XOXO

This trench coat looks so cute and I love how you styled it!
Thank you so much.
That trench coat is beautiful! I have a couple of trench coats, they are good winter options here (as it doesn’t get too cold). I’d love something more colourful, all mine are neutrals.
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you have had a brilliant weekend 🙂 We had a busy one, some Church Online people flew over from the US so the weekend was full of activities, we had a party at my place last night which was fun!

I love a good Trench!
I love your little shoulder bag it’s so pretty. I’m a huge fan of the classic trench coat. There are so many fab ones this season, I’m in heaven! x
I kind of wish I had a trench in a classic color! But the pink definitely fits my personality best.
