My weekend was INSANEly packed. Like, I’m sitting here right now trying to remember all the inspiring things I wanted to write about this week but my mind is gook. And my eyeballs are full of eyeliner and mascara from being “on” so much this weekend.
So I’m going to write about my weekend and this outfit, mmkay? Cool.

Don’t get me wrong, I mostly had a blast. We saw Fantastic Beasts and had dinner at Hazel (which was amazing, get the ribs holy shit). Husband of glam and I took a 5 hour lawyer ethics training course (because apparently DC doesn’t trust their new attorneys to be ethical…I wouldn’t either) then we cooked our Sun Basket and started Westworld.
Wait there’s more! I shot some outfits with Dave, then headed out to Cris’s house for some champs and a Sophie Blake New York jewelry shopping party in Virginia. Sophie Blake’s new jewelry collection is SO gorgeous, but my favorites have to be these studs and these drop earrings.
Enough about my weekend. This outfit is simple and the easiest it can get. My turtleneck sweater is the BEST because the sleeves are fitted and hit between the shoulder and the elbow. If you’re going to wear short sleeves, these are the best kind because they are flattering on any arm. They don’t squeeze, look too sloppy, or cut off in a weird way (kind of like cap sleeves). They smooth our your proportions, and who doesn’t love that?!
Basically, everyone needs a neutral fitted turtleneck in their wardrobe because it easily lends itself to layering under blazers (like this gorgeous one, or the one I wore in this post), putting a vest on top, adding your favorite necklace, or with a pretty skirt for a special night out.
I chose to tuck the sweater into my high waisted jeans to proportion my body and make my legs look longer. It’s all about the proportions and wearing the most flattering pieces you can find.
Now I’ll save you from my rambling. If you see me wearing a version of this outfit on the reg, then don’t be surprised.
