I suffer from that mid-week slump. Either I didn’t sleep well, something isn’t going my way, or I’m just being a plain old grump.
I’ve come up with a few ideas that will make you feel happier today!
JCREW SWEATER | PINK COAT (only $32) | OLD NAVY MINT DENIM | M.GEMI LOAFERS (just realized they desperately need cleaning) | STELLA & DOT PENDANT c/o | JUSTFAB CLUTCH c/o | SCARF via THREDUP
1. Fill your living space with flowers.
I like to pick up a few bunches of flowers and arrange them around the house. I personally like whatever is the cheapest (carnations are some of my faves) because flowers are flowers. Every time I see them, I think about how I took time to place them there, and it makes me feel great. Not just because I took the time to do something for myself, but it gives my living space a colorful and loving vibe.
2. Resolve to pet every dog and cat you see.
Maybe I exaggerate when I say every dog. But I mean, if you are in the elevator and a pooch is in there, then ask if you can pet him or her. Having an interaction with an animal is grounding, reminds us of unconditional love, and that life’s simple pleasures are worth relishing.
3. Treat yourself to coffee. On a Monday.
I always have the urge to get a coffee to celebrate a Friday. Honestly, the fact that it is a Friday is reason enough to celebrate. Why not treat yourself to coffee on a Monday?! You will savor and look forward to it! I’ll take any reason to be happy on a Monday.
4. Send a friend or family member a gift “just because.”
Some of us find deep happiness in doing things for others. If you see something that you know a friend or family member will really get a kick out of (even just a card!) then send it to them. It will probably make their day as much as it makes yours. If you order it online, super. If you have to stop at the post office, that’s 5 minutes out of your day.

5. listen to music from your youth (whenever you consider that to be).
Something about remembering the “good old days” brings us happiness. Maybe your teens or early twenties was a time where you felt more carefree and had less responsibility. Whatever it is, putting on some old tunes from when I was younger makes me feel so happy. A little N’Sync, old school Britney Spears, Outkast, early Lady Gaga. I LOVE IT. I’ll just search 90’s or early 2000’s on Spotify.
I hope you gain some happiness today!

The music tip is one of my favorite tips! The right music can really set the tone!
Good to see colors! I’ve been seeing just so much boring beige/tan/blush. Spring is here, let’s have color!
