Mint Julep: Derby Dressing

My bff Grace and I used to throw these amazing themed parties in college. It pains me that it was…over six years ago. So when Grace invited us over to watch the Derby and drink mint juleps, I was like umm yes duh. Without discussing what we were going to wear, we both dressed the theme. Best friends don’t need to discuss these things. You just DO THEM because you are awesome.

Grace’s husband, Patrick, whipped up the tastiest mint juleps! I will get the recipe and remake them for you guys. The recipe is just too good to keep a secret. Grace said she got these adorable glasses from Crate&Barrel, but I can’t find them on their website. These are classic from West Elm and I also adore these from Anthropologie if you are in need of cocktail glasses for the summer!

Grace and Patrick also have the cutest dog, Hoby. I call him my nephew. I took a lot of photos of him because he is so full of personality. He even joined us for a few fashion shots.

I adore Grace’s style. She is always wearing something I want. She graciously sent me the details to her outfit so I could share with you! Grace always puts together bright, cheery outfits that look totally effortless. I know one of her favorite websites for dresses is Modcloth, so it’s no surprise that this one is from Modcloth too!

As for me, I went all out preppy in this striped flare dress, and my new favorite lace-up heels. Another dress I had to steam the sh*t out of. Ordering things online is amazing, but everything comes crumpled. If you like ordering online, I highly suggest you invest in a steamer. This is the one I have.
