Weekend Craziness
I hope you all had a nice relaxing Valentine’s Day. We hung out at home, then ventured out into the yucky Chicago snow to pick up some Japanese takeout from two of our favorite spots. Yes, TWO, haha. We got bao buns from one place and sushi from across the street. Since we were’t the only ones with the Valentine’s Day takeout idea, our quick trip downtown took about an hour and a half round trip. The restaurants were backed up and the traffic was nuts. But it was yummy and worth it! All I can say is, thank goodness we brought Sidney’s Kindle Fire with her favorite movie (Coco) downloaded!
Light Reading Materials
I’ve been devouring a new book series! I recently decided that I needed some light reading materials. After taking care of Sidney and my husband and blogging and planning content all day, I just need a break. The series I picked is called the Royal Elite series. It is basically a trashy romance novel, but with a lot of suspense! There’s the typical juicy raunchy stuff, but plenty of plot to follow. They books are keeping me occupied.
I’ve been reading about 1 per week and I’m currently on book 4! I recommend starting with Cruel King (she calls it book 0), then moving on to Deviant King. If you’re a fan of garbage romance novels or just need a quick fun read, I highly recommend this series! I’ve been reading the books on my kindle, because Dan goes to sleep earlier than I do and the back light on the kindle won’t keep him awake. I love my e-reader because I can put lots of books on it, and its nice to throw in my bag if I have an appointment where I may need to wait around for a bit.
Plus, I don’t have to carry around an embarrassing romance novel with some naked dude on the cover! I admit it!

I love your top!! Sounds like a fun book series. Usually I’m into watching darker shows on TV but lately have just wanted light, mindless stuff, so I get it! Hope your week is off to a great start. 🙂

Roxanne, this is an adorable outfit! I love that top! You had me cracking up about the covers of your trashy romance novels! I remember reading 50 Shades of Gray and I was super embarrassed to read it in public so I made a cover for it out of a paper bag! Haha So silly. But hey, a little trashy romance never hurt anyone. Read on, my friend, and enjoy the escape! I just started reading Dickens’ A Take of Two Cities but I think I might not be that into it right now and probably need something a little easier to read!

My reading has been bead embroidery technique books. LOL! Nothing as interesting as your romances. But I read them through the Kindle app on my iPad. So cool to carry all my books so handily.

What a fun top! it’s good you had a nice Valentine’s day even if it took a while to get all the pieces for your meal! It’s just another day here really, so there wasn’t any issue for us getting our takeaway, haha! I’ll take any excuse to not cook dinner 😉
I’ve been visiting the fast back section of the library for new reads – all books are just 7 day loans as they need to be back quickly as they are in high demand. No series but there are a lot of good new books out I’ve been picking up and enjoying from that highly recommended section! 🙂
