The Best Things to do in Chicago in the Fall:
There’s a list of things I like to do every fall. Call me basic, but there are so many great ways to celebrate something as simple as a seasonal change. Doing some of these things with Sidney makes it even more fun! Here is our fall checklist!
Apple and/or Pumpkin Picking.
We went apple picking early because Honey Crisp is a September apple and it is our favorite. Plus, we like to eat apples and honey for the Jewish new year, which happened to be super early this year!
Bake Something pumpkin or apple themed.
Pumpkin bread, apple pie, even mulled cider counts! Whether you’re loving the baking mixes from Trader Joe’s or making your own creation from scratch, there’s nothing like a yummy fall treat.
Secure a Halloween Costume.
In my opinion, planning the Halloween costume is actually more fun than wearing it! Last year Sidney was the Stay Puft Marshmallow man. So cute.
Watch your favorite Scary Movie.
Or Halloween movie. We are totally behind on this. Our favorites our Halloween, Scream, Hocus Pocus…and does Titanic count? LOL. Make a big bowl of popcorn and freak out! I love it.
Wear All The Cardigans.
In Chicago, we have about 2 weeks of true fall. We will have 80 degree sweaty days then temperatures plummet to the 40s. If you want anyone to actually see your cute cardigan, you need to get it on your body before you have to bust out the puffer coat! Along with this perfect striped cardigan that I wear year after year, here are some of my affordable faves:

Roxanne,
The only thing that I would add to the list is soup. There’s nothing like the cooler temps of Fall to bring out the craving for a bowl of warm and comforting soup.

Your Chicago weather sounds familiar to me. Although this year we’ve had a lovely fall and it’s been such a treat. We watched a Quite Place 2 finally and I think that’s kind of scary and probably as scary as I want to go. What’s Syd being this year?

We get a lot of time to wear cardigans in the UK – all year round basically! But it’s nice to wear thick chunky sweaters that can only be worn in winter. Thanks for the linkup.

That is so true about Chicago Falls, or anywhere in the midwest. It’s hot, then only fall for two weeks, then it’s winter, ha ha! We don’t really get to experience the transitional seasons.

I really must start a checklist with fun things to do as well as the necessary! Cardigans are an essential part of life in the UK, mine are out already!
