A few weeks ago I attended the DC Fashion Incubator Emerging Designers Show at the W Hotel with my blogger babe friends. Naturally, I wore my favorite DC designer, Zophia.

The DC Fashion Incubator (DCFI) supports local and emerging designers by providing resources for them to work and thrive. As I’m a newbie to the DC fashion community and a supporter of local brands, I absolutely wanted to attend.
The W Hotel is very grand and swanky, so I would say it was the perfect location for an event like this. We sipped on cocktails mixed with and sponsored by Courvoisier (a type of cognac) while watching the models strut down the circular runway.
Each designer had a very cohesive collection that was true to their own vision and sense of style. I really enjoyed putting my “project runway” knowledge to the test.
I’ve actually only been to a handful of fashion shows, and this was my first one in DC and I had no idea what to wear. I figured that all black can’t be wrong. It is always chic and effortless.
If I am wearing all one color, mixing textures is key. My Zophia skirt is faux leather with a cool snakeskin print, and my lacy top from Refine Boutique is ladylike and structured all at the same time. Add a pop of color on the lips (this DEEP RED is my favorite and always makes me feel sexy) and a killer shoe.
And THAT my friends, is a fashion show look. I wore my Zophia skirt to the last fashion show I went to. See my outfit in this post!

Some of the fashions from the runway:
Check out what my friends wore to the show.
- Sarah shimmered in her crop top and joggers.
- Dani also wore all black with pops of red! Great minds.
- Jia actually worked the show (starting at 8:30 a.m.! Gahhh!)
- Catherine kept it classy and effortless, per usual.
Thank you to Dani for taking these photos
