Moving makes me all nostalgic-like. I find myself constantly thinking “omg this is the last time I’m ever going to take photos on our rooftop!” or “I will really miss that train dinging on Saturday mornings.” My thoughts are as macro as “I’ll never live here again” and as micro as “I will never step off this particular sidewalk again.” Why the heck do I do that to myself?
So anyway, these are the last photos I have from my life in DC. Depressing, right? No, it’s certainly happy. By having this blog I have a scrapbook of fun and unforgettable locations from around DC, and that’s really special.
We’ve been in Chicago for exactly a week now. Our view is really incredible (subscribe to the newsletter to see photos!) as we are now living on the 44th floor. Putting things away is like a game of tetris while I’m learning our new space and what goes where.
I’m slowly learning the neighborhood, too, and you’ll be happy to know that there are about 8 coffee shops within 2 blocks of me. There’s also a nice selection of grocery stores and…um Michigan avenue is only a few blocks away! It is like the 5th avenue of Chicago. Come visit me and we will get coffee and shop. Kind of the best combination ever, right?
