Husband of glam and I have recently resolved to start exploring the areas around DC. We live in the city so it is easy to stay here and never leave. Since Virginia has a lot of amazing wineries we decided to rent a car and go out to the Bull Run Winery for an afternoon of sipping and a little bit of history.

We took a little tour of the winery, which involved frequent stops and tasting of wines. The tasting room and outdoor seating area overlooks the Bull Run battlefield from the Civil War, which is pretty nerdy and cool.
We got ourselves a bottle and plopped down with some meats and cheese. It’s probably one of my favorite things to do in the world. Just sit and enjoy life, and people watch the crap out of everyone.
Dan mentioned to me how he loved our day trip so much and hadn’t felt the way he did in a long time. It was a moment away with just the two of us, without dishes in the sink, laundry to fold, gyms to visit, phones ringing, and emails calling. Even just a short day trip together felt like the mini vacation I needed so badly.
I wore this adorable yellow dress from Zaful. The ruffles are on point, and I love the lace up detail at the back. You can find more cute floral party dresses here! I hardly ever like to show myself wearing my Birkenstock sandals on the blog because for some stupid reason I’m embarrassed that they are my favorite sandals. They’re not really that stylish or trendy. But, alas, they are the most comfortable sandals on the planet. I have them in a color called antique lace.

Such a pretty dress! I love the lace up detail at the back. The Birkenstocks look great with the dress. I feel the same way about my FitiFlops – they’re not the most exciting footwear but they are the most comfortable, for me anyway!
