6 Weeks To Go Before Baby, a Pregnancy Update:
Can you even believe how close we are to meeting our baby girl? It feels like just yesterday we were announcing that we were pregnant. We are almost done with her nursery (can’t wait to show you!) and have been shopping around for all the things we need for a newborn.
At 34 weeks pregnant, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get around. I still go to the office for my freelance attorney job, and in the city that means walking or taking a bus to the train, then taking the train (we call it the El in Chicago) downtown to the office. The whole commute is only about 30-40 minutes, but I’m always huffing and puffing by the time I get where I need to be!
I love going to work because I love people watching, being downtown, and I enjoy my work routine. But in addition to the commute, sitting at work all day makes me so swollen that I’m not as productive when I get home. The only remedy I’ve found to be effective for the swelling is putting my feet up and drinking water. I have to decide what my last day at work will be, since I haven’t set a final date. But I have a feeling it will be soon!
But don’t be fooled – being off my day job doesn’t mean I’ll be sitting at home in my pjs all day. I still have lots of errands to run to prepare for the baby, the blog to create content for, and I’m looking forward to cooking some meals that I haven’t had the energy to make lately. Once the baby comes, Dan will get 10 weeks of paternity leave (YES! 10 weeks! Working for a labor and employment law firm sure has its perks) and I plan to take a short break from the blog business. We will see if that actually happens!
A quick mention about this gorgeous dress! It is kind of a splurge, but I love it. It is great quality, comes in plus, and you can also unbutton it all the way down and wear it as a kimono! Plus the print is called “cool cat” I’m not sure why because there are no cats on it, but anything mentioning cats is cool with me!

It’s so hard to believe that baby will be here in 6 weeks. I am so impressed by your husbands job, way to go company!!!! What do you get? Or do you not because you are freelance? One great thing about Canada is our maternity leave is a year if you can afford the unemployment pay, so with my first I took 7 months due to a job coming my way that I needed at 25 and with my second I took the full year off. Take as much time off the blog as you need. I am sure that’s easier said than done but do what makes life manageable for you and yr Ty to stay guilt free 😊

Wow, only six weeks left! Time flies, doesn’t It? I say enjoy it as much as you can even as it gets harder and harder to do things. Taking some time off from work also helps. I took the month off from work before my due date and it was glorious! No more work commute and I was able to enjoy the pregnancy at my pace, doing baby things and just processing that I am going to be a mama soon. This Nic and Zoe dress is beautiful Roxanne and it looks amazing on you. The color is stunning and it suits you nicely. I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!
