A question I get asked a lot is “how do I shop at SheIn?”, or “what’s the deal with SheIn?” SheIn is an online store that has incredibly affordable, on-trend clothing. I’ve been buying from them for about a year now, and so far it has been a pleasant experience. However, I am careful in how I choose what to buy and how I order. So today I’m telling you how to maximize your chances of getting it right!
5 TIPS FOR SHOPPING AT SHEIN

So before I actually bought anything at SheIn I had a ball just browsing their huge inventory and adding things to my cart. I was always a little skeptical of the quality, but I finally placed an order so I could see for myself, and haven’t looked back since.
It is so fun to find dupes for trendy things that usually cost waaaay more. Like this bag that looks like Chloe, this Self Portrait dupe (and this and this), this one piece that looks like Mara Hoffman, and this swim coverup (also in white) that looks exactly like this Sundress brand.
Now, for the tips for shopping at SheIn!

Tip 1: HAVE YOUR MEASURING TAPE OUT WHEN YOU PICK YOUR SIZE. It is really important to actually measure yourself and compare your numbers to the sizing guide. This is imperative because the sizing is not consistent. I have ordered some things in a large and some things in small depending on the guide. If you aren’t sure, I recommend sizing up!
Tip 2: BROWSE AND READ THE REVIEWS. If the reviews are unanimously saying the item is not what they expected, or “yes this is an amazing deal I’m buying in every color!”, the item is see-through, the fabric feels different than the photo, etc… then you will get a better idea of the piece’s quality. The comments and reviews are also good for sizing purposes. If I am ever skeptical of an item I read the reviews and it makes me feel more informed.
KITTY FLATS (size 39)
Tip 3: SHOES. I’ve only ever had one bad experience with Shein and that was with shoes. I wouldn’t even call it a “bad” experience, because it was totally my fault. I read the reviews, but was stubborn and decided to order one shoe size up instead of two. I contacted customer service, who had the exchange on the way the day I sent mine back. This story is actually about my beloved kitty flats, which you know I can’t live without. (I ended up with a size 39 when I typically wear a size 7 US.)
Tip 4: SHIPPING CAN TAKE 2-3 WEEKS. So if you want to order something for an event, just plan ahead, because it does have to ship from overseas. When something arrives in 2 weeks I’m usually happy and surprised. If this is too slow, you can always pay extra for faster shipping, but don’t do that. Only trolls pay for shipping.

Tip 5: INVEST IN A STEAMER. I’ve seen haters on instagram calling out beautiful bloggers who are wearing SheIn clothing for “promoting cheap stuff” or “look how wrinkly that is.” This day and age when shopping online occurs more than we step into a store, you need a steamer. Not just for SheIn orders. For all online orders. Otherwise you will look like a crumpled mess. And I sincerely apologize if this offends anyone, but the hang-in-the-shower-steaming-trick usually won’t cut it for the type of crumples I’ve seen. There, I said it.

Roxanne says
Sure! Try this converter: https://www.unitconverters.net/weight-and-mass/kg-to-lbs.htm
See if the item has any reviews with photographs. Those typically help me. Additionally, get out your tape measurer and compare your measurements to the sizing chart. When in doubt, order a size up! Feel free to email me if you need more help!

Thanks, Michelle! The worst that happens is you have to pay shipping to return it! But that’s not so bad.

I’ve ordered from them A LOT of times. Yes, I have read horror stories but I do understand where those stories are coming from. Like you, I would only order something that has a review on it, preferably a photo would also be helpful. I also try to add my own reviews and photos to the website for every order I make so it helps other buyers too. But pretty much, I follow the same shopping rules as you do. 🙂

I agree, I like the reviews that have photos. I should probably try to add my own reviews, too, because I know how helpful they can be! You are smart!
