I never thought that when I moved to D.C. I would have the opportunity to meet so many fantastic women! I got really lucky that I started this blog and found some of my best friends on Instagram. Life is weird!
We pitched in for a party bus to go pumpkin picking at Butler’s Orchard, followed by wine tasting and farm-animal viewing at Rocklands Farm and Winery. Because we were all just pining for a really basic fall day. And it was perfect.
In typical blogger fashion, our trip involved lots of photographs, laughing, champagne, wine tasting, and looking at all the cute farm animals! There were these brand new piglets at the farm. We were all squealing and close to tears, they were that cute.
I really enjoyed the wine tasting we did, too! Sometimes there are a couple wines in a winery’s lineup that are just so-so. However, I really liked all the wines I tasted, which is pretty rare. I ended up purchasing the Sandstone Wine, a smoky Caberbet Franc and Petit Verdot blend, and the Medley, which is a fun sparkling red wine. I think a little effervescence is so fun and festive. If you live in DC, VA or MD, here are some places where you can find Rocklands Farm wine!
What does one wear to go to an orchard and farm? It was really windy that Saturday, and was also supposed to rain. So I went preppy-casual in a blazer I thrifted from Goodwill, a gap turtleneck, my AG jeans, and Hunter boots. It ended up being perfect!
I also had a huge bag that I left on the bus with my multiple bottles of water, snacks (loving these Lara bars lately), and a warmer coat. I’m not the type that can just “wing it” if I don’t have enough food or water. I”ll get really cranky and bitchy. Better to just be prepared and spare everyone my wrath. If you can’t tell by the goofy grin on my face, I was super happy and had the best time.
The rest of the photos are here for your enjoyment!
