Cabin Beauty Essentials
Last week was rough. I had lots of plans for the blog, but a vicious coup on our democracy kind of put all of that on halt. I’ve been in a funk all week about it, but am optimistic that in 10 days the inauguration of our new president will give us a sense of renewal. While it is disappointing that there are so many crazy people in this country that I love, there are many many more good people.
Naturally, I’m still stuck on our cabin getaway. Whenever I feel down, my mind seems to drift back to happier times, and the most recent very happy times were our little family trip to Michigan. I packed very light, both in my suitcase and my toiletry bag.
Here are four cabin beauty essentials that I’m really glad I packed!
Living Proof Dry ShampooThis is my favorite dry shampoo right now. I blow dried my hair the day before we left because I didn’t want to have to spend time washing and styling my hair at the cabin. It rubs in very easily, doesn’t irritate my scalp, and smells super fresh. |

Native Natural DeodorantI wrote a post about why I switched to natural deodorant, and the Native brand is still my favorite. I skipped the perfume at the cabin and just applied this delicious lavender & rose deodorant to feel and smell fresh. |

Laneige Lip Sleeping MaskSpending lots of time by the fire place, coupled with the snowy cold air outside, made my lips very dry. There’s a lot of hype for the Laneige lip mask, and I can tell you that the hype is real! This is the most moisturizing lip treatment I’ve ever used. I kept apply this yummy berry lip mask throughout the day to keep my lips hydrated. |

L’Occitane Lavender Hand CreamMy hands needed some love (whose hands don’t need more love in the winter though) for the same reason my lips did. All of that firewood hauling really took a toll on me. Just kidding, but seriously this hand cream is phenomenal. Lavender is so soothing and calming – I feel like I’m at a spa every time I use this hand cream. |
Do you have any of these items in your make up bag? I hope everyone has a better week than last week!

I think dry shampoo is a mum essential! 🙂 And hand cream and lip balm are definitely must-haves for winter. never tried a lip mask before though, this sounds really interesting!
Hope that you had a great weekend, and that things do improve with your new president. Our weekend was a nice quiet one at home with the 3 day Brisbane lockdown due to there being a case of coronavirus outside hotel quarantine, but lockdown ends tonight as there have been no more cases 🙂
Thanks for the link up!

The lip mask is just a really rich lip balm! I can’t live without it. You all must think Americans are just nuts!
