Floral Clothing: How Does Your Garden Grow?
How does my garden grow? It doesn’t, unless you’re referring to my floral clothing. Haha. My urban living situation doesn’t allow for much of a garden besides a couple of planters on my balcony. So my garden is fake. Fake fake fake. Perhaps some day I’ll have a garden, but until then I’ll be nursing my few indoor plants and fake orchids. And a couple planters of herbs on my balcony.
This beautiful floral skirt certainly reminds me of a garden! Much like one I’d love to have – colorful and bright. The print also comes in a dress. The eyelet blouse (which is only $15) kind of reminds me of a piece I’d wear to frolic around the English countryside. It has an old-world feel with the buttons down the front and structured bodice. I’m excited to wear it all summer with my favorite white jeans and these fun floral shorts I just ordered.
A quick side note about the close up – I’m SUPER impressed with the new CC cream I’m using! I mentioned it as a favorite in my recent Sephora favorites post. I didn’t have to retouch my skin at all for the close up photo. All I did was amp up the purples to pay the flowers pop, made the photo slightly warmer-toned, and added a bit of grain for a dreamy feel. My new CC cream makes my complexion so even, keeps me matte, and doubles as a sunscreen. It’s safe to say I’m totally hooked.
The Magnificent 8
The Magnificent 8 is back and this time we’re following a garden theme! We styled vintage and heirloom pieces in January, animal print in October, and white dresses in July, bathing suits last July, and now we’re back with another fun styling theme.
The Magnificent 8 is a collaboration among 8 stylish women, each in a different age bracket, ranging from early 20’s to early 80’s. The mission of this collaboration is to show you just how ageless style is, how we can each dress however we’d like and in ways that make us feel fabulous. There are no age restrictions on style. So wear what you want, when you want, add a smile, and strut your style with confidence. Be sure to check out all 7 of these amazing gals! And make sure you check back in July for our next collaboration!
Let me introduce the ladies of The Magnificent 8. Head to the blogs below to see how each of us styled our garden-themed attire!

Roxanne, these photos are so amazing! You are like a garden goddess. I love the skirt and all your flowers all around! My garden doesn’t grow either for many reasons…two being I can’t grow anything and it is so cold here still that nothing is growing! This was such a fun theme and everyone really nailed it!

I just love this skirt Roxanne. I’ll be wearing a ton more like this with our hot weather here.
