Fancy pants are totally in right now, you guys! Florals, stripes, wide legged, culottes, skinny – you name it! I tried out a pair for myself and they make me feel like a million bucks.
Shooting At The EMC2 Hotel
Michelle and I were invited to shoot photos at Chicago’s EMC2 hotel in Streeterville. It is a gorgeous boutique hotel in Chicago, just 2 blocks off the Magnificent Mile. The hotel is science-themed (EMC2=Albert Einstein) with so many artsy touches that we just relished! For example, the bar looks like a library with a giant wall of books, and there are these cute little robot butlers named Leo and Cleo that zoom around the hotel. The rooms are a work of art, too, with beautiful art, lighting, and tech gadgets to admire. As an FYI, the EMC2 hotel is a Marriott so if you ever visit Chicago and want to get/use your Marriott points, you gotta stay here! Or at east stop for a spritz at the bar (but call me first so we can hang out. Spritz alone, die alone, is my motto.)
We took these fun shots outside the hotel. It was one of the first days that the weather broke 50 degrees, so we were cheesing so hard! For whatever reason the door man loved us and was so funny about clearing the sidewalk so we could get the shot.
Fancy Culottes Pants Under $100!
On to the outfit! Spring and summer is the best time for trying out new and crazy trends. We’re used to seeing printed blouses and skirts, but how about a fun pair of fancy culottes pants!? But, let’s be real, no one wants to blow all their hard earned money on a pair of pants that are so fancy that they come with a hefty price tag.
If you can afford those amazing Alice and Olivia pants, more power to ya. But below I found some perfect options all under $100. My fancy floral pants are just $16 and come in 5 different colors! I’m wearing a medium, just because I like to size up in this brand. You might also remember me wearing these striped culottes, too!
I wanted to point out that I included plus size options as well. I realize that not everyone is a straight size, and I would be a failure if I neglected to include fashion options of all sizes. I’m trying to be better about this!
My favorite look from last week’s linkup is Chanda from Birth of a Fashion Blogger!
Chanda delivered the sassy and confident look that I was needing last week. Her t-shirt is amazing and I need it. This look just LIFTS ME UP.
