There’s something so fun about the pearl embellishment trend. And my favorite new sweater has everything I want in a fall top.

So this weekend I made the mistake of trying to go to a popular restaurant without a reservation. We got there at 7:15 and put our names down, scoffing at the threat of a 2 hour wait. Well guys, in Chicago when they say it is a 2 hour wait…it really is a 2 hour wait. Luckily they had live jazz music so we hung out at the bar until they texted us. The food was totally worth it, but I’m kind of embarrassed by my rookie mistake.
Anyway, as for my outfit! My friend Caroline featured this pearl crossover sweater on her blog, and I had to have it. Since it is only $21, I didn’t even hesitate. In the hopes of not sounding too obvious (because you guys know my style preferences) A) it is burgundy; B) it is little girly; and C) it is a cozy sweater. Need I say more?
But the pearl detail isn’t the only thing that makes it special! There is a twist-front, too! I thought it might be too bulky but it lays flat and looks really good. I wore my Mott + Bow denim (they make your butt look SO good) and of course my new fave booties (featured in this post!)
My coat is really old from New York and Company, but I linked a couple similar olive green military jackets in the widget. I wear it all the time and always get compliments.

I’m so happy to introduce you to my link-up co-host this week: Ruth from My Little Nest!
Ruth is one of my favorite style bloggers to follow, because her style is effortless yet totally attainable. She expertly mixes vintage vibes with polished casual style in a way that you can totally see yourself in any outfit she puts together! She lives in Washington state with her husband and two beautiful girls. Make sure you stop by her blog to say hello!
My favorite look from last week’s link up was Kishina from Kishina’s Kurvy Korner!
Kishina’s kimono is like a breath of fresh air. Instead of wearing a plain old cardigan or sweater, Kishina slayed the fall color game in this outfit! Head to her blog for all the outfit details.
Now for the linkup!

Glad to hear you are learning your way around the new city. This top is totally something I would grab, and saw so many versions of it early this fall when we went shopping and now I am kicking myself for not picking one up. 🙂 Such a great addition for the winter months ahead.

Hope you had a great weekend, other than that crazy 2 hour wait! We did a lot of Christmassy things like putting our tree up which was good. They predicted wild weather but thankfully it stayed away all weekend.
