I was thinking about you all and trying to understand who we are style wise. If you’re coming back to my blog every day, week, month (thank you most of all!) then we must all have something in common.
I believe that our type of girl is a savvy shopper who seeks out bargains, but also likes to incorporate luxury pieces into her outfits. Today’s outfit features fancy high end pieces I love and have coveted for years, but mixes them with affordable items.

We all have memories of when we decided we liked pretty designer things. I loved watching cribs just to see the celebrity closets and the rows of gorgeous shoes. Flipping through the fashion magazines to and trying to guess the designer by the photos before you read the ad. And wandering around the fancy department stores just to window shop and be in the presence of a beautifully curated showroom.
On the other hand, bargain hunting was something that my mom and I always shared and looked forward to. We hit up all the stores looking for the best trends for less. Scoring a deal was part of the fun! I’m still very much that way, as you can tell by the fact that I frequently call out the price on a lot of the clothing and accessories I post.
Given my background, I knew that if I ever did allow myself to have a luxury piece, it would be a shining beacon in my closet. I never wanted, however, to only surround myself with loads of shining beacons. It’s not who I am, and I don’t think that you all are like that either.
As savvy shoppers, you’ll find us at the clearance rack and daydreaming in Saks all in the same day. That’s why mixing pieces like a Gucci bag with a $28 lace dress (also love this one) doesn’t even make be blink. It’s just second nature to me. Why not balance the fancy bag with a less expensive dress? Affordable earrings with Louboutins (I totally love these and they are so similar)! We can’t all be dripping in diamonds and Balmain like Kim Kardashian.
We have our luxury items that we love incorporating into our wardrobes. I honestly would feel like I was walking on glass if I was wearing 100% designer luxury. Even the fact that I combined this bag and these shoes in one outfit makes me kind of go “woah.”
I wear this bag A LOT. It is probably one of the best designer pieces I own. I linked some more affordable options too because that’s how I roll. See how I styled it in more outfits here, here, here, here, and here.
