I’ve been acne-free for years now due to a very strict skincare regimen that works extremely well for my skin. But alas, stressful situations (like moving and packing and unpacking and pms-ing grumble grumble) make pesky zits pop up.
I’ve been struggling with problem pimples around my chin during this move to Chicago. Let’s face it, I am human and my skin isn’t perfect. It is probably a combination of stress, not sticking to my routine, and eating badly (since I just unpacked my kitchen this weekend I am hoping that changes!)
I recently added Zapzyt into my skincare routine to try and knock out the pesky buggers, and it fits flawlessly into my daily regimen. Here’s my current skincare routine with the new Zapzyt cream added in.
1.Cleansing oil. I use the Biossance cleansing oil on dry skin to get off all my make up, including mascara.
2. Face Wash. Next I use my favorite exfoliating face wash by SkinMedica. It is gentle enough to use every day and does a fantastic job of cleansing my skin. I’m near the end of my tube which is why it looks kind of bent in the picture.
3. Retin A. If you’re not using some kind of retinol, then you need to. My dermatologist prescribes it, so just ask yours next time you see them if you are a good candidate. I could honestly tell a difference in my skin after just 3 days of using it. My skin was softer, smoother, and I had less breakouts.
4. Zapzyt acne zapping gel. I dab a small amount on any problem areas. The 10% benzoyl peroxide gel reduces inflammation and makes my pimples less visible in a day. I like to use it at night and in the morning. It is also really nice that it comes in a screw-top tube so I can throw it in my purse and travel bag for reapplication on the go.
5. Sunscreen. During the daytime, I use a sunscreen. Maelove is my current favorite, because it is gentle and doesn’t clog my pores.
It is really easy to add a pimple spot treatment into my routine, and I’m happy I have a good one in my arsenal for when pms or stress pimples arise. You can pick up some Zapzyt at Walmart for under $6. 🙂

My favorite look from last week was Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots!
I love Jennie’s sleek black outfit with the cute ruffle sleeves. Jennie’s blog is always full of beautiful outfit inspiration! She has a way of making everything she wears look polished and sophisticated.

My pleasure, Jennie! You have beautiful skin, but you might still like the cleansing oil because it does an incredible job of removing makeup!

We’re all human with hormones! Sometimes we just can’t avoid the pesky buggers.

I will be picking up Zapzyt in the next few days, thanks for the tip. I don’t know what my excuse is but I have broken out like crazy. Argh.
Roxanne says
Argh is right. I still have some angry madness on my chin right now but it is slowly going away. Deep breaths and patience!

It’s funny because we always think of zits as a teenage thing, but they crop up at all times of our life! Even when you are old like me!!!

Why are we all so stressed at the moment!?

I tend to break out when I’m stressed too – I think it has more to do with my greater chocolate consumption then than stress itself, haha!
Thank you for the link up!
I hope that you have had a lovely weekend unpacking! Warmer here today, which is nice after a cold week last week, but the rain is back which isn’t so good!
