Three Affordable Shirt Jackets
I think that shopping for Fall outfits is my favorite time to shop. The dramatic change from brights and florals to the moody colors of fall. I’m personally here for all the layering, including alllll the beloved shirt jackets! I’m so happy that shirt jackets are back in style from last year. Here are three that I found that will absolutely be in heavy rotation in the coming months.
What is a shacket…er a shirt jacket you ask? I admit the word “shacket” almost sounds like a swear word, haha! It is not quite a shirt but also not quite a jacket. Somewhere in between. Think of something you throw on over a tee or a tank to stay warm when the morning is cool. Then peel it off when you’re chasing the kids off to school. Put it back on when you’re out for a walk on a cool fall evening.
The shirt jacket trend is really featuring neutral plaids, but I found a cute corduroy version and a bright plaid version for us color-lovers that I’m super happy to share.
NEUTRAL PLAID SHIRT JACKET | CORDUROY SHIRT JACKET | BRIGHT PLAID SHIRT JACKET
All are affordable and comfy! I have a size small in all three shackets. The corduroy is meant to be a little more oversized than the other two plaid ones. I love how all three have different buttons that make them unique.
Which one is your favorite?!

I think they are not only “still in style” from what I’m seeing, they are “More in style” than ever. Sometimes it takes awhile for styles to really catch on, and this is definitely the year for the shirt jacket. I love the neutral shacket and I just purchased a corduroy one this week!

Roxanne, great idea as an alternative to a denim jacket or barncoat.
