Happy Last Day Of Hanukkah
Can you believe December is almost over? It feels like the holiday season came and went in a flash and that the last day of Hanukkah was here in the blink of an eye! It usually feels pretty long, with all the same songs on the radio and commercials getting you in the spirit (see my post about what it is like to be Jewish on Christmas). But this year it went by really quickly for me. Probably because days fly by with the baby.
This year’s Hanukkah has been one that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Getting to share it with Sidney and seeing our traditional through here eyes is incredibly fun. We spent the time with both sets of her grandparents, which was so special. It was a long road trip, but SO worth it. On the day we drove back to Cleveland from DC, Dan said to Sidney, “you got to be held by all four of your grandparents today!” and it made me feel so emotional. Not many people can say they were held by all four grandparents in one lifetime. But this little girl got to be held by all four grandparents in A SINGLE DAY! She is so adored and lucky to be surrounded by constant love.
The photos today are a little peek inside our Hanukkah home. I bring out our Hanukkah banner every year and our Menorahs (we have a few, here’s why). With Sidney around, I traded in my fun poofy skirt for cozier digs like leggings and sweaters. This star sweater is festive, but I like that it doesn’t scream “holiday”. I can still wear it for the rest of the winter.

Are you Jewish? If so, how did you celebrate the last day of Hanukkah? Or if you’re not, I’d love to know how you celebrated the holiday season. So let me know in a comment below!

That is amazing! I am so happy to hear that Sidney got to see and be held by all four of her grandparents. That’s truly priceless Roxanne. We have both sets of grandparents still around but only one of the pair spend time with my son. It breaks my heart that the other pair is not bonding with him. I hope your week is going well so far and Happy New Year!

Roxanne, I am in love with this sweater and these beautiful photos! And what a special Hanukkah indeed! I got all emotional just reading it especially since both of my parents passed away long before I had children. So that is an amazing thing for baby Sidney! Wishing you a very Happy New Year, my friend.

That is 100% special. To have grandparents, family and friends who love your baby becomes so important once you become a parent. YOu know they can never have too many people in their corner, loving, supporting and cheering them on in life. My girls are so blessed, having had them relatively young, they have four healthy grandparents and they also have two great-grandmothers who live close by and they get to spend time with them all the time. I have so much enjoyed getting to know this side of you through the holidays, the side that feels more personal in terms of what your own values and traditions are through the holidays. Lovely.

What a cute casual outfit! 🙂 it’s so nice getting to spend time with grandparents – we are lucky our boys get to spend time each week with both sets of grandparents, we would be lost without all the help and support they give us! 🙂
Thank you for the link up!
