Last week, I headed back to my favorite mall to try on some Fall fashion! Woodfield Mall is my favorite one-stop destination for all things fashion, as you can recall from my spring fashion post! I get giddy just looking at their massive store directory!
Like I said – Woodfield mall is massive! They have basically every store I love, plus more. Monday’s shopping trip was little bit different because we brought Sidney, but the mall is really kid-friendly with elevators, places to sit, and bathrooms with changing tables. We started our afternoon by having a delicious lunch at Cheesecake Factory, then hit the ground running.
For this post, I wanted to do something a little bit different. Instead of just collecting clothes to try on at each store, I decided to challenge myself to style one uniquely fall piece three ways. To keep myself focused, I chose to visit four stores: Zara, Altar’d State, Dry Goods, and Anthropologie! Keep on reading to see the fun and fashionable fall looks I put together at Woodfield Mall!
Fall Fashion at Woodfield Mall
Zara
My first stop was Zara, known for their trendy yet affordable workwear. I decided to make the first challenge easy on myself, so I grabbed a chunky cropped sweater in a neutral oatmeal color and perused the store for three unique ways to style it! I grabbed the red pumps at the last minute and I admit they kind of make every outfit special.
I love how versatile a neutral sweater can be. Zara was full of fun cargo pants, and a cropped sweater really shows off those signature cargo pant pockets. Next, I was drawn like a fish to water to a metallic pleated mini skirt. A quick tuck and voila, a perfect outfit for dinner and drinks with friends. Finally, since leopard print has been all the rage, I found the perfect silky animal print skirt that would be great for work or play. Something about a cropped sweater with a form-fitting skirt makes my heart skip a beat.
Fall Style At Altar’d State
I went to Altar’d State for my Spring Fashion Try-On and knew I’d be back because this store is just TOO GOOD. If you haven’t shopped at Altar’d State, here’s a description: think bohemian Free People vibes with a lower price tag! I love a boho moment, especially in the fall.
For my bohemian fall style challenge, I styled a green utility jacket three ways. First with a vintage 70’s style mini skirt and black bodysuit. Next, I found the blousy top of my dreams (it came home with me) and velvet pants. Finally, an easy shirt dress with a statement scarf. If I didn’t already have a pair of snakeskin booties, I most definitely would have gotten these because they were insanely comfortable.
If you don’t already have a green utility jacket for fall, I highly suggest getting one! I saw them all over the mall, and I’ve been wearing mine for years.
Top Fall Picks at Dry Goods
I’ve never shopped at Dry Goods! They have an easy hipster vibe, kind of like Madewell but with a mix of great brands. I styled a rust puffer vest three ways, which was quite challenging for me because I don’t typically wear vests! I only realized that this vest is reversible at the end of my try-on session!
A sweater dress is a must-have in your fall closet, and is a great layering piece. Second, I styled the vest with a striped dress – another piece you probably have in your closet already. I couldn’t resist the beanie either! Finally, I kept it classic with jeans and a cropped sweater! Three cozy and simple fall looks! Which is your favorite?
Fall Fashion At Anthropologie
Is it just me, or does walking into Anthropologie make you smile? It’s probably the gorgeous scented candles they have, or perhaps the whimsy and color that surrounds you.
I picked out a plaid statement dress, and set out looking for unique ways to style it. Admittedly, I didn’t do the greatest job at this challenge because I was losing steam and so was Sidney. However, the plaid dress is stunning on its own! I added an extra layer with a gorgeous powder blue moto jacket. And finally, I went full farmer vibes with a denim jacket and a great hat. The booties are my own!
WoodField Mall Spring Shopping Experience
If you’re near Woodfield Mall or have the chance to stop by, there’s no better place for fall shopping! Although I love online shopping, there is something so nice about walking into a store and touching the fabrics, interacting with the salespeople, and putting together outfits on the spot. From time to time I love to go to the stores to be inspired. And with so many great stores in one place, let’s just say Woodfield Mall made me feel totally inspired!
If you need or want links to any of the outfits I’m wearing, don’t hesitate to say so in the comments and I’ll reply with a link!
