Some Mom Essentials For Babies + Toddlers
There are so many baby products out there that your head could spin! I remember when I was making my baby registry a little over 3 years ago and thinking about how overwhelming that was. Here are a few products that we recently received from Babbleboxx and are really enjoying!
WaterWipes
Wipes are mom essentials for SURE. I use them for so many things! I love WaterWipes baby wipes because they are so gentle on a baby’s sensitive skin and on growing toddlers. They contain only 99.9% water with a drop of fruit extract, and are 100% biodegradable! WaterWipes are also plastic-free and and compostable, which means better for the environment. The impact parents can make by switching to biodegradable plastic-free wipes is huge! Now that WaterWipes changed their formula to be totally plastic-free, they will now save the equivalent of 228,594,728 plastic bottles each year. I like using these pure wipes to wipe butts, but also to wipe little faces clean after a meal.
Boon Groove Drying Rack + Nursh Baby Bottles
Boon is such a great brand because they think of what moms really want and need. I, for one, don’t mind a little bit of counter clutter, but too much makes me crazy. The Boon Groove customizable drying rack is compact, but it can still hold up to 6 bottles. It is also dual-sided do I can arrange it in a way that works for me and as the girls grow. There are two bottle trees, 1 small caddy for things like pacifiers and silverware, and 1 large caddy for plates and larger items. When I’m not using it, I can fold it flat and easily store it away! I think it looks really cute on my counter for the time being.
Boon Nursh bottles are super innovative. They came up with an air-free feeding design so little ones don’t swallow too much air when they are eating, which often results in gas, colic, or too many burps. The silicone pouch inside collapses as the baby drinks! The silicone is the safe kind, too. Made without PVC or BPA. They’re also very easy to clean: they are dishwasher safe, can be boiled, microwaved, frozen, and sterilized as you need. Once Rosie starts using bottles more often (she’s mostly nursing now) I know she will love these Boon Nursh baby bottles.
The First Years Sure Comfort Folding Baby Bather
This is an infant bather I wish I had when Sidney was tiny! It is a simple folding baby bather that easily fits inside most sinks or in the tub. I love it because it it is so easy to use or take on the go. I can think of so many travel situations where I wish I had this earlier! It unfolds easily and has no-slip feet on the bottom. I looks pretty comfy, too. There are raised mesh sides so that when Rosie is getting enthusiastic about bath time (which frankly is every time) I don’t have to worry that she will fall out. When bath time is done, I can easily fold it up and put it away to make way for Sidney’s toddler bath time.
This bather is only meant to be an infant bather, so for babies up to 15 pounds, or once they can sit up on their own. We won’t be able to use it much longer because Rosie is growing quickly, but it is such a nice baby registry gift!
Disney Lullaby Playlist
This Disney playlist takes me back, ya’ll! There are soothing renditions of classics like Baby Mine (from Dumbo) and Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas), as well as songs from more modern Disney movies like Encanto and Frozen. It’s nice to relax and unwind to familiar songs with your baby. I may or may not listen to this when Rosie isn’t around, haha. Having a good bed time playlist in your back pocket is one of those mom essentials we all need and love.
I think you’ll love this calming Disney Lullaby Playlist, too! And tell your friends about this baby playlist; they’ll think you’re a genius.
Stride Rite Adalyn Sneakers
Only the best baby shoes for early walkers! Sidney’s first pair of sneakers were Stride Rite, too. And I love that Rosie has these Adalyn rose gold sneakers to look forward to when she takes her first steps.
I like that Stride Rite sneakers are sturdy and built by a company that understands healthy foot development, strength, coordination, and confidence of early walkers. The Adalyn is especially built for first-time walkers and is APMA (podiatrist association) approved. They have an Ortholite® memory foam footbed that cradle’s the child’s natural foot shape. I like how the bottom really is shaped like a cradle for easy walking, and they are very easy to take on an off with an oversized opening and hook and look closure. Plus, elastic laces are genius. I remember Sidney had a similar pair as her first baby shoes and we loved them.
I have a Stride Rite Coupon Code! You can get $10 off $70 or more at Stride Rite with code BBRITE10. The offer is valid until 2/1/23. Coupon codes are also mom essentials, haha.
I Am A Baby by Bob Shea, Candlewick Press
I Am A Baby is a pretty silly book, and we love silly books! It is written by Bob Shea, the bestselling creator of the Dinosaur Vs. Bedtime and Ballet Cat books if you’ve read those! It is told from the baby’s point of view and leads us through scenes of parent exhaustion, grumpiness, squishy diapers, spilled milk, scared kitties, and chubby overfed doggies. Challenges we all know too well but look back on with fondness. The illustrations are vibrant and fun to look at, even though the narration is simple and batter-of-fact.
I think the book is really funny, especially if you have a wry sense of humor. Candlewick Press has been around for many years, and publishes some phenomenal authors we know and love. I have a feeling we will enjoy this book for many years to come!
Like I said, there are so many baby products out there but there are a few that truly are mom essentials. I personally find that it is nice to hear from a mom who is in the thick of it (*raises hand*) what’s actually good and worthwhile. I hope you’ll check out some of these products, whether for your own family, your baby registry, or as a really useful and thoughtful baby gift!
