Things have been busy over here in Roxanne land. I spend the weekend in Cleveland with my family for Chanukah (we ate, we sang, we played) and I’m headed home for a week until our trip to Munich.

I’m currently sitting on the Megabus on my way from Cleveland back to Chicago. I wish I could say it was going all well and dandy, except I had a reaction to some food and I’m not feeling too great. There’s really nothing worse than being stuck on a bus when you may or may not need a toilet. Sorry for the TMI, but I know everyone can relate.
Dan couldn’t come on this trip back to Cleveland, so I’m by myself. It turns out he is traveling for work this week and leaving a few hours before I get home 🙁 so I won’t see him until Thursday. Such a bummer!
If you have a significant other that travels a lot, how do you cope being alone? I typically schedule myself silly with errands and dates with friends, but being in a new city is hard because I don’t have too many besties and I don’t want to over-impose on my new friends. It is nice to have Jake and Elwood (my kitties) around too.
Anyway: this duster coat outfit is such a fave of mine! It was the first outfit I shot at Speedblogging at the Gwen hotel in Chicago. It is such a great concept created by my friend Mindy! From 9-12, about 12 bloggers and 6 photographers got together at the hotel where we had 2 rooms to change in. We all rotated with 10 minutes per photographer and got to shoot 6 outfits total at 6 different locations, all for $125. It helped me create all my outfit content in just one morning! And I got to meet and hang out with some really cool people. If you’re in Chicago and want to join, check out the Speedblogging Instagram or email me for info. And if you’re in another city, definitely consider this model!
Windowpaneprint is such a great neutral. I picked out this duster coat jacket from Shein (my friend Rachael has it in black; see how she styled it here). It doesn’t come with a belt so I wore it open! Sometimes the simplest outfits are the chicest, and it just takes one piece to make it shine.

My favorite look from last week’s link up is Christine from Bon Chic Style!
Christine is a friend from DC, and is known for posting her tips on looking French chic! She is French, after all! She styled this gorgeous metallic skirt two ways in her post. Go ahead and check out her other look, too!
I know I always comment back on all the link-ups, but last week was absolutely nuts for me. I read all your comments and appreciate the love and support! I promise I’ll get back to responding soon.

Beautiful jacket! I have yet to buy a printed jacket. Most of what I own is plain maybe a faux fur hood but plain! Lol ???? I am sorry to hear you weren’t feeling all that well and can relate with stomach problems. It is super uncomfortable and really gets more daunting when in public. I hope you are feeling better. My husband travels a lot for work and when this happens I used to pack it up and take myself with my son to see my parents. Since my parents live close to my friends I try to schedule play dates or lunches to catch up.

I’m with you—I don’t know how couples do it when one of them travels so much!! I think that would be so hard!
But you’re going to have such a blast in Munich! And it was so delightful to see your festivities on IG stories!!!

Roxanne, this outfit is so amazing! I love the windowpane coat. It really is a great print and the length of the coat is so dramatic. And that blush velvet top is magnificent as well. You look fabulous, my friend! And I hear you on the traveling while not feeling well. Last weekend, I had a 5 hour drive with my kids in the car and I was not feeling well at all either. Multiple bathroom stops were necessary and it was kind of awful. I hope you are feeling better now!
