Ever since I started blogging, I’ve experimented with my style to really try and figure myself out. While my personal style is an ever evolving thing, I’ve come a long way since I started. One thing I do know, is style and fashion is as unique as the person wearing the outfit.

The interesting thing about being a self-proclaimed style blogger/expert/enthusiast is people sometimes expect you to be a fashion know-it-all. While I love fashion and eat sleep and breathe style, my own style is always somewhat mysterious; something I can’t really describe in a few words.
Like a lot of you, I’m sure, I don’t think my personal aesthetic fits into a particular style category (preppy, all black, trendy, vintage, sporty…). I like trying new trends, but I can’t seem to squeeze myself into a box with constraints on what I can and cannot wear based on a set of imaginary rules.
This outfit is a clash of different “style worlds.” My whimsical embroidered top is from SheIn, and kind of screams eclectic trendy style. My skirt is on the way opposite of the spectrum, as it is from J.Crew, probably the preppiest store ever and known for classic pieces. I won’t list everything I’m wearing and the stereotypical style attributes, but you get the point.
I shop at SheIn, J.Crew, department stores, JustFab, ASOS, Free People, Loft, you name it. If I like a piece, it doesn’t matter where it is from, or what particular style box it checks. Putting together an unexpected combo is what makes all of us unique, and that’s what I truly love about fashion.

My favorite look from last week’s link-up was Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood!
Ada has been my blogger friend for awhile now, and she always find the cutest things from Target. Her dress is from the Who What Wear collection, and she matched the yellow floral with her purse! It reminds me of Italian high fashion, which is full of whimsy and fun patterns. Check out Ada’s blog, where she frequently features her adorable daughter’s outfits, too!

I love your blouse, the sleeves are fabulous! I can’t define my style either, I’m like you – I shop at many different places and love lots of different styles. That’s probably why I have several wardrobes crammed full with clothes and shoes!

Like you I cannot define my style with just a few words. But it is definitely always evolving and I stay true to what I love like bright colors and dresses for example and don’t always pay attention to trends. This outfit you wore is stunning. I love the blouse and shoes. And girl the earrings and clutch are both so cute and such a steal. Like you, my style has definitely changed and gotten way better since my decade of the twenties, or even since from 5 years ago when I first started blogging.
Thank you so much for featuring me too. It made my Monday. =)) Funny thing, I also thought of Italy. The Who What Wear collection at Target is wonderful, affordable and well made. BTW, my pieces are a matching skirt with a matching blouse and the matchy bag. 😉

My style is a lot like yours, always evolving! I’ve never fit into one category, if it’s pretty to me, I’ll wear it. I ordered the skirt your wearing and you look sooooo much better in it that I did! I’m sending it back, haha, but if it looked on me, like it does on you, I would keep it!

I don’t fit into one specific style category either! I’ve always worked in the fashion industry and as a fashion stylist I get inspired and change my look everyday.
Great post and that top is AMAZING!

I’m with you 100% on this! I like to think that I have my style down but it’s always constantly evolving. I don’t really go by treads, but rather what speaks to me 🙂

Such good points! I spent so much time trying to fit into the box in my lifetime..and wasted lots of money in the process. You nailed it with this look…it’s obvious you feel comfortable and confident in this look!

This top is gorgeous. The awesome thing about style is that you define your own style. So if it’s all over the place from numerous stores then your style is wide open! I love different styles and don’t fit into one category either. You definitely have alot of outfits that speak to me!

Just the other day someone complimented me on my style and asked where I shop and in thinking about it I realized, I didn’t know what to say! I shop all over and pick up whatever I like from a variety of different stores! It’s hard for me to say, “Oh…shop here and you’ll be able to look like this.” I’ve decided it’s like being an artist working on a “found objects” piece. As you go through your week/month, you pick up what inspires you or will tell a particular story and put it all together into something new and unique! Fashion is art! We’re all artists! (sorry that was so long…totally had this revelation Saturday though!)
