I’m heading to a baby shower for one of my best friends this weekend. Which got met thinking – I feel like I know SO many people having babies! Whether having their own, adopting, or fostering, there’s a baby fever going on! And I absolutely love it.
Having recently had a baby myself, I’m in the throes of it all. The cuddling, feeding, early waking, diapering, cold-coffee drinking amazingness that is motherhood. While it is extremely wonderful to receive tons of gifts for the baby, I think that moms are sometimes overlooked. I had a few good friends get me “new mom” gifts and it was just what I needed to feel special and rejuvenated.
So if you know a someone that just had a baby or is expecting soon, here are some amazing gifts for new moms that I know for a fact will make them incredibly happy!
Amazing Gifts for New Moms
Practical Cozy Mom Clothing
Barefoot Dreams Cardigan. This is the SOFTEST cardigan in the entire world. I keep mine near the bed and wear it constantly – on chilly mornings, when I care for her in the evenings, and around the house.
Softest Pants Ever. I love Cuyana’s fewer, better policy. Own less, but own good things that won’t fall apart.
Nursing-Friendly Nightgown. These will be super soft on her skin, and the button front makes for easy night time nursing. I also really enjoy this pant set.
Cozy Slippers. If she’s going to be up at night, her feet might as well look cute and warm.
New Mom Self Care
Fresh Skin. Having a baby wreaks havoc on a new mom’s skin. Hormones and/or lack of sleep will do that. She’ll love a mask set to try and relax and get her skin back in shape.
Clean Bath Products For Mom & Baby. This brand is wonderful and safe for both baby and mom. I use the bubble bath and shampoo for Sidney, lotion for me (the lavender is divine), and the all over ointment for us both.
Lip Tint. Just because she’s with the baby doesn’t mean she can’t feel fabulous. A quick swipe of some subtle color on her lips will make her feel like a human, and won’t take much time to do it! My favorite colors are rosé and tulip.
Snacks. Nursing moms are always hungry. Moms in general are so busy feeding and taking care of their children’s needs that they forget to eat themselves. Froozeballs are an incredible plant-based high protein snack. She can pop a few if she wakes up starving in the middle of the night or throw a pack in the diaper bag for when hunger pangs strike. I recommend the sampler so she can try a bunch of flavors.
I also really love Safe and Fair granola! They make allergen-free (gluten free and vegan, too) granola and delicious snacks. Their birthday cake flavor is my absolute favorite. You can use code roxanne10 for 10% off, too!
Lovingly Useful
Nespresso Coffee Machine. I swear I could recommend this coffee machine in any gift guide, haha. Being able to make a delicious coffee, espresso, or latte at home is such a game changer.
Yeti Mug. I always say this on my Instagram stories, but moms don’t get to drink hot coffee. UNLESS they have a yeti mug. I have the tumbler (from this post) but I just got the traditional-shaped coffee mug and I love it!
Gripe Water. New babies tend to have tummy troubles which make them cry so much. A friend gifted us some gripe water and it seriously saved us many times. Genius gift.
Champagne Stoppers. There are so many reasons to celebrate with a new baby, but perhaps she can’t drink a whole bottle of bubbly at once. These stoppers will keep her champs fresh and bubbly.
Echo Dot With A Clock. Timing is so important for moms. How long has baby been nursing? How long has the baby been awake and it is time for the next nap? Has the bottle been in the warmer for three minutes? The Echo will set timers for her, or she can glance at it when she needs to keep track of time. We’re always playing music around here, so the music on demand feature is amazing too. Anything to help a mom multitask is a lifesaver.
Just Because
Initial Necklace. A necklace with the new baby’s initials would be the sweetest gift. But be ready with some tissues, too, because the waterworks WILL occur!
It’s hard shopping for new moms! Hopefully this guide will help you treat the new moms you know!
